Thanks mom
And I hate to even bring this up, but do they do that deal where the groups can bid up to chapter average instead of total?

The number is usually Total or the average current NPCs size, which ever is larger. So let's say that Total is 180 but the average chapter size is 190. They may shoot for 190 but they certainly do not have to do so.

New groups generally try to pledge up to "average campus size," which would be...oh...190??

Oh No-not at all- I just think this year offers a unique opportunity for those girls who were unable to find a greek home at Bama. With #'s like this year a new Greek family is a plus.

Not sure how much this means, but the Alpha Phi rep my daughter spoke with said they weren't going for any particular number; they were going to take the ones they wanted, whether it was 2 or 200.

Encourage her to go to Bama Blast (on Tuesday, I think), and sign up for some great campus organizations there!
|
There will be a Get On Board Day on the quad. It is on Wednesday, August 27. All of the student organizations will be there and it is a great opportunity to see all the organizations that are on campus.

Congrats to all the New Members at Bama!
Last-year's list was so nicely organized. I hope someone in their office has the time to do that again for this year. Even my 25-year-old eyes strain a bit to read this year's and try to pick out individual members and hometowns!

I think Bama Blast started at 4 today, too. "Bama Blast is an event designed to welcome all incoming freshmen and transfer students with free food and live entertainment, while giving students a chance to meet each other before classes begin."

Im not sure if anyone has asked this, but what happened to SDT? I noticed they weren't included in recruitment totals.

They do not participate in formal recruitment. They do their own thing, and kudos to them.

I went by Letters this morning to purchase small gifts for two girls whose mother's are friends of mine who pledged Chi O and AOPi. The shopkeeper told me that the Alpha Phi's already have 200 girls that they plan to interview for membership.
