For some reason, the past 7 days have been extremely difficult for me. I appreciate prayers of comfort and hope that God's plan for me will soon make itself apparent. I feel like Murphy's Law is really making itself known and I'm starting to feel the effects. Thank you!

Please keep my mom in your prayers tomorrow (Friday). She goes in for surgery on her "back" - really, they're removing two ruptured disks, building a trough to prevent the bones from pushing on her spinal cord nerves, and then putting in a mesh support system and a plate over it. The surgery is scheduled for 12:30 CA time, and they anticipate her being in the hospital until Sunday, although with my mom, I wouldn't be surprised if she was home Saturday morning.
I'm pretty certain everything will go fine - I just get nervous when ANYONE goes in for surgery, and *especially* when it's my mom.

MIRACLE NEEDED!
Ladies, this may seem a little odd, and I probably shouldn't be taking this out of the Mod Forum, but I know that there are some prayer warriors in our Forum! The prayer request is for Robyn, the niece of OTW. She is 18, and has been in a coma due to a bad car accident. Robyn needs a miracle, as the hospital is no longer holding out much hope.
If you are a prayer warrior, please ask for the Lord's will for Robyn, that she receives the miracle she so desperately needs. Thank you!

For those who don't know, Robyn was taken off of life support, and went to her heavenly home soon afterwards. I'm sure we all share in OTW's grief at this time. She'll be taking some time to be with her family right now.
I hate to make another request, especially a "blind" one, but some married friends of mine are going through so many trials at this time. If you could remember Pam & Dan, I would so appreciate it.

Dear friend loses Dh and...
Only l month ago, Terri lost her husband of 29 years to lung cancer.
We ask your prayers again for the family. Terri's younger sister was visiting Jackson Hole, Wyoming arriving yesterday (Mar. 22) with two other friends for a girl's get away! The family was notified at dawn this morning that there was an explosion in the house that they were staying in.
The other two women were both killed, and Terri's sister was taken to the nearest large medical facility in Idaho Falls, where she is in Critical condition! She has already had several surgeries, removing her spleen, surgery on her brain due to pressure build up in the brain, she has burns over 20% of her body, numerous fractures, etc. Terri's father, brother, and other sister, along with the spouse of her sister - are all on their way there at this time - to arrive tonight. As you can imagine - the whole family is in shock. Terri is struggling so much, both physically and emotionally with Carey's(husband) death, that she did not feel she could handle going at this time. Please lift up Terri in your prayers, and pray for Terri's sister - her name is also CARRIE! Terri feels numb with this latest news!
We know that God's promises are that He will never give us more than we can handle!
However, this latest news feels overwhelming to Terri!
Here is the newsclipping:
Fire county's deadliest
By Martin Reed
Jackson Hole Daily
Investigators determined Thursday a propane buildup ignited by a basement electric water heater caused an explosion that destroyed a Pacific Creek house and killed two women.
An unidentified third woman who was seriously injured by the explosion that happened at about 5:20 p.m. Wednesday remained ! in critical condition.
Teton County Coroner Bob Campbell identified the victims as Lauren Ernest Gentle, 52, and Carol Ann Bailey, 51, both of Houston. Gentle is a co-owner of the home on Braman Road at the boundary of Grand Teton National Park about 40 miles north of Jackson.
Bailey and the unidentified woman flew to Jackson on Wednesday afternoon from Texas and traveled to Gentle’s home, according to authorities. The three women were the only ones found at the home.
Jackson Hole Fire/EMS Chief Rusty Palmer in a statement released Thursday called the explosion “the deadliest fire in the history of Teton County.”
Authorities sifting through the charred debris Thursday pinpointed the electric water heater as the source after suspecting the buildup in the basement. Investigators believe the gas settled in the basement and c! rawl space before igniting.
“There was a gas leak in the basement of the home,” Palmer said in the statement. “We are still working to determine the origin of the leak, but we have determined that the explosion was ignited by a spark from the electric water heater.”
Palmer and six firefighters worked at the scene surrounded by twisted sheets of metal roofing and shattered logs. The fire’s lingering smell accompanied wisps of smoke rising from smoldering pockets of debris in one area of the site.
The explosion ripped apart the log home and sent debris flying as far as 350 yards from the site. Small pieces of pink insulation covered nearby 40-foot trees and a swath of the surrounding snow-filled fields; a window frame landed about 100 yards from the home.
Aside from the charred remains, very little remained of the home that h! ours earlier occupied the parcel of now-blackened snow: a couple of throw pillows, a burned metal bowl containing ashes, a stone fireplace missing a chimney and a cement foundation in which the basement was located. Scattered personal effects underscored lives suddenly torn apart; spools of fishing leader, a sponge, a ski, a snowshoe.
The explosion left a nearby 1,000-gallon propane tank, a shed containing fire wood and a guest house relatively undamaged.
Investigators focused on the basement because they found the home’s walls and ceilings among the debris, but not any floor joists. That indicated the explosion likely originated from below the floor and went upward, Palmer said.
Also, because propane is heavier than air, it may have settled in the basement without anyone smelling the gas, the chief said.
Emergency crews re! sponded to the 911 call made by neighbor Mike Silverman who heard the blast, said Christy Carlson, Fire/EMS captain. Silverman and Russ Doty, working construction across the street, arrived and pulled the injured woman from the burning wreckage.
“It is because of them the woman is living,” Carlson said at the scene Thursday. “The credit really goes to Mike and Russ.”
Both suffered minor injuries on their head and ears – Carlson compared them to sunburns – from rescuing the woman and retrieving the body of one of the women who had already died. Attempts to get the second deceased woman – Bailey – were unsuccessful because of growing flames and debris covering her, Carlson said.
Also, “she was in one of the areas with significant fire,” Palmer said. Crews recovered her Thursday morning, delayed by debris and poor light.
“In the ! dark, we weren’t sure what was basement, what was crawl space,” Palmer said.
At the time of the explosion, the three women were in an area of the home between the fireplace and a set of double doors leading outside. “What we have not determined is if they were all entering the building, exiting the building or if it’s coincidental,” Palmer said. “It’s possible they smelled gas” and tried to leave.
Fire crews worked into the late-night hours to extinguish the blaze, which did not damage other structures or spread to surrounding areas. The massive amount of fallen snow helped to contain the fire.
“If it was the summertime, we would have a serious forest fire,” Carlson said.
Please pray for this family. She is near and dear to us. I can't imagine the pain she is going through. Please pray that her sister recovers quickly and fully.

Ladies,
Please keep the Delta Upsilon chapter in your prayers. We lost a very recent alumna on Tuesday. Melinda Garrett '01 passed away suddenly on Tuesday from what has been determined as a general viral upper respiratory infection, which came on quickly, leaving no time to react to or receive treatment. Melinda was a bright and beautiful young woman and this is such a shock to everyone. Please keep her family, as well as the chapter, in your thoughts and prayers.
This is the obit from Melinda's hometown newspaper. I have her parent's address if anyone would like to send a card. Just PM me and I'll get it to you.
Loyally,
Emalee

i've been having some massive hip problems. My dr thinks I've torn my labrum (which is like your hip's version of an ACL) I've gone thru PT and done the steriod shots. Unfortunetly, neither has helped.
I went for an arthrogram on last tuesday (or those of you who don't know what an arthogram is and how it is done click here )
So I am going to see my hip surgeon on Thursday. When I called for the results of the arthrogram, I was told the doctor wants to see me to discuss the options. Sigh. I know that they can do surgery to fix this, but surgery is no fun.
Also I have an interview for grad school on wens too. so i'll talk all the positive thoughts
thanks!
