*edited to add that I posted too soon - IowaHawkeye's sister is indeed a Tri Delta. Maybe they met during recruitment though! I'm so glad your sister found such a great home, Rissa! [/B]

She's really excited!
She didnt go to any other chapter except Theta, though, she met the girls early on and knew thats where she wanted to be... not what I did, but oh well (plus, I wanted her to to go AXO, but she wanted to make her own way)

So there is still one more event?? The dinner sounded pretty intense (but nice!) to me! Glad you're getting involved and enjoying your new school...

I know that those will be out soon and will affect study hours so perhaps that is it. I've waited how long that a week or two is nothing in the grand scheme of "lifetime membership".
I seriously need some coffee, I got up at 7:30 which I had not done since the ferry docked in Bellingham July 4th.

Ahh... Good luck with your work, enjoy homecoming (mine is this weekend too), get a nap, and good luck with the COB process! You have a great attitude towards it.

I'm glad to hear that things went well. Don't worry about the confusion of staying long because I feel that if it were my chapter we would not worry about something that small with a PNM and it would be a good sign that you were willing to spend time with them, instead of running off right away.
Good luck and don't give up hope. I'm sure that if it is meant to be it will be.
Have faith and pray.. that is what I did! I think I even wrote my prayer down and have it somewhere.
Praying for the best for you,
Arin

Aurora, it sounds to me that all is going quite well! As you said, things can get a little hectic around Homecoming.
Now, if you still worried about how long you stayed: we were once COBing a wonderful woman who happened to be at our Suite while I was making name tags for our next function. She actually started helping out, which we took as the great sign that it was meant to be! Marcia turned out to be one of the best sisters we ever had!
I wish you the very best of luck!

I JUST found out that my niece went Sigma Kappa at UTSA! I'm so excited for her, but I never knew she was participating in recruitment! We'd talked about it a lot! Oh well, congrats SK! She's awesome!

AB, we are ALL wishing you continued good luck and hope that the best situation comes out of this.
As to the friends... tell them that you aren't buying their friendship, you're just joining a social club that has many fringe benefits (ie Rotary Club and Lyons Club) and only select people get to participate. Or you can just hold your tongue and save your breath because greek life is hard to understand to the outsider and even harder to explain from the inside (or something like that as the quote goes.)
Good luck... the cob events (Ice Cream, Friends, Game Night) that we've had are all jeans and sweater (or whatever). But I would do as your campus does.
GOOD LUCK!
Arin

SOOOOOOO----- I've decided to COB this semester! I have only one choice though... Chi Omega. I've been in their house and they were soooo nice! About 5 or 6 of them went to high school with me, and we were for the most part friends! All the others are very sweet too! I've emailed our Panhellenic President and the Chapters President, and everyone else that I could think of!! (Including some of my family friends that are Alumnae!) Anyway! I just thought I would post it!
|
Best of luck with your COB period with Chi Omega!
