Congratulations to AOPi. That is a huge pledge class, expecially for deffered recruitment campuses. Is this a Colony group at Ramapo? I watch the colony thread and do not recall seeing Ramapo - but I just thought I would ask.

Yes, congratulations on the newest chapter at Ramapo! My college Greek experience was so good as was my daughter's. Different campuses/different Panhellenic groups/same good memories. I am so glad that colleges are opening up for growth in the Greek system as an option for enhancing the college experience.

I don’t know if updates to colony/chapter statuses are also posted here (shows how much I make an appearance in this thread..), but Alpha Sigma Tau recently had 2 chapters installed:
Iota - Dec 2010
Emporia State University (Kansas)
Epsilon Lambda - Jan 2011
Indiana University – South Bend
23 members
I didn’t see Epsilon Lambda listed at all, so I thought I’d send the update!

Appalachian State University recently voted to increase Panhellenic total from 80 to 90.

Curious about something- The total is listed at 119, but the chapter mean is 158. The smallest chapter as 133 (I think) and the largest 171. Does total mean the maximum number of girls each chapter is supposed to have or is it something else? If its the maximum number then why are the actual numbers so far over total? Can they go that far over the total set without changing total? Sorry if the question is a little ignorant. Just curious about how it works.

A chapter may always take quota during formal recruitment, whether it will put them over total or not. So, if a chapter has 110 members before FR, and then quota is 50, they aren't limited to only taking 9 women (since total is 119) - they can take 50. This would make their chapter at 160, even though total is 119. Being over total DOES prevent a chapter from extending COR bids.
