I did like the duet with Carly and Michael Johns, but could have left much of the rest of the show.
As for the USC band, they were drowning that beautiful song of brotherhood.

Glad to have you back!
I agree about Archie/D'Archie/Cupcake. He would have been much better served waiting 3 years or so before entering. But if he waited, then his dad couldn't sponge off of him in the meantime.

Quoted for posterity. I just wish the kid could be a kid and sing what he *wants* to sing and do what he wants to do after the tour.

I agree... I don't want him to be a singer yet. I want him to go to college, away from his parents where he can just live and find himself. I know that I do not know him or his family or really his life, but I just have this weird feeling that he is going to have a sad life, because he will never meet the expectations of his parents, and he really does not have the voice for mainstream right now. He would of been amazing thirty-forty-fifty years ago, but the only path I see for him right now is an Aaron Carter path, and well, that gets old quick!!!

Awww. Yay Archie! I knew the kid would be fine. Sweet little song and I forgot what a cutie he is.
Any news on Cook?

New Cook Single!
Bumping the thread 'cause David Cook just came out with a new single, "Light On". I just bought it off iTunes.
I've gotta say that I'm a little disappointed. I love Cook and I'm sure he'll produce some great songs. This one isn't horrible or even bad, it's just that I expected more or maybe I expected something different. IMO, the song is very reminiscent of late 70's/early 80's classic rock. It's kind of Journey-esque without Steve Perry's voice.
Of course I'll still be buying his CD when it comes out. I haven't given up on him yet. Not by a long shot.
There is one thing that I definitely must complain about though and that's the photo that accompanies the single. It seems someone put a little too much polish (and make-up) on our diamond-in-the-rough and he's got a little drag queen look goin' on. Here's a partial of it:
I miss my natural scruffy baby!

Ok, owning up to my inner-dork here. I just pre-ordered, THAT'S RIGHT, PRE-ordered Cookie's album off iTunes. Just doing my part to keep the economy chugging along (that's my story and I'm sticking to it).
The first single downloads when you PRE-order, I have it running in the background right now. Wow, can you tell Chris Cornell helped write this song! I was a Soundgarden fan "back in the day", so I give it a thumbs-up.
