Thank you so much girls!!!

Your kind words mean the world to me.

Today has been a much better day, but I'm fighting an internal battle.

I'm not sure how the rest of the week will go.

Please pray for my friend's family-- they are 2 generations of ADPi's and have just lost their mother/grandmother. She would have been 86 next month, and was a sweet, wonderful woman who gave us 3 wonderful ADPi sisters across 2 generations!

"Grandma Rose" will be missed by many...

Oh honey I am sooooo sorry. I know how it feels as you remember I lost one of my grandmothers in December. Please know that I am here for you if you need to talk. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm so sorry to hear this! It sounds as if "Grandma Rose" was pretty special in your life, too.

today my cousin who was 36 died in his sleep by asphyxiation. He returned home after a minor gall bladder operation yesterday and spoke to practically everyone in my family telling us he was ok, just a little tired, but the operation went exactly as expected and he would call everyone in the morning. His roommate went into his room at 630 this morning and found him dead. He performed CPR but was unable to revive him. His body will be shipped from Las Vegas where he lived to Chicago so he can be buried with our family in the plot. Please pray that his body makes it safely here and also for my aunt who has lost her oldest son and her other 3 sons who have lost their brother. Please also keep me and my parents in prayer as he was like a son/brother in my immediate family....

I've been getting really sharp pains in my back and stomach for a really long time. For awhile I thought it was just cramps because they didn't occur very often. On Monday they were really really bad and I was throwing up from the pain, so Betsy took me to the doctor. (The real doctor, not the school health center).

And it turns out that my gall bladder is enflamed, so the doctor gave me pain medicine and antibiotics and ordered an ultrasound on my gall bladder and some other tests. The ultrasound tech said that she wasn't really supposed to tell me, but the doctor will probably want to take out my gall bladder.

So the doctor finaly got the results of my tests back, and I have to go in tomorrow to meet with her, so she can tell me about them. One of my sisters is taking me because my parents live half way across the country from where I go to school.

Please pray for me, I'm really scared.

I'll be praying for you, that you feel peace along with healing. Do you mind me asking you something? Do you drink a lot of diet coke?

ARADPi, I pm'd you the reason I asked.

I am asking for prayer for a woman who is involved in another organization to which I & some Panhellenic sisters belong. Her name is Linda, and was accidentally shot when her husband was cleaning an older gun. Please keep Linda in your prayers, as she had to be LifeFlighted to another city, and is in serious condition. For all I know, her husband may be at the local Ronald McDonald House!

ETA: When I first posted this, I didn't have permission to use her name, but this is a good friend of AOIISilver's, and the treasurer of her DAR chapter. Linda actually had the presence of mind to get a towel & her purse while her husband called 911, and they immediately sent her to Vanderbilt.

So, any of you Nashville alumnae, you might want to watch for Linda's husband at RMH - and all of us can pray!

Oh my goodness. That kind of injury is scary because it is so sudden and so serious. I will definitely pray for Linda and her family.

Now, I know this is isn't as serious, but... my younger brother is a senior in high school this year, and he's one of the best defensive players in the state. He's looking at an amazing chance to play football for a top university. On Friday night, during the football game, he was hit and he seperated all of his ribs on one side of his body and broke three on the other side. This is injury could put him out for thr rest of the season, and he coukd be in physical therapy for quite awhile. Please keep him in your prayers.

I spent most of the night in the emergency room with my grandmother, who has developed acute leukemia. It was a big shock to find this out and I'm not sure what's going to happen now. We will be talking to the doctor about options, etc. this afternoon. Please keep my mom in your prayers, as she is trying to do the best thing for my grandmother's care.

So now we've found out that she doesn't have AML, but CLL....chronic lymphsetic (sp?) leukemia......so after preparing ourselves for the worst, we find out she doesn't have a terminal illness. So that was kinda difficult to deal with too.

She has congestive heart failure, also, and a string of other problems, that are going to cause her to be placed in a nursing home. She will hate it, but I know that is the best thing for her. We can't take care of her without serious medical help.

Please keep the family in your prayers, while we make some decisions about what to do.
Thanks sisters.

I am so sorry for all of you who have posted recently about illnesses, accidents, and deaths. I am thinking of you and praying for all. My youngest daughter, who will be 10 this month, had surgery yesterday, and she is just doing great! She's not shed a tear, and was a real trouper about everything. She has also had very little pain, so God has answered our prayers. On another note, my son turns 21 today. Ahhh...I'm old!
