Seriously, that's why I said "supposedly", lol. I don't believe it, either. I think she just wanted to be "grown and sexy" at the prom even if that meant disobeying the rules.

I would never let my child wear a dress like that. EVER.

That's not a dress, it's a bathing suit.

On another note: I saw my cousin off to the first of her proms this season, and she was beautifully and tastefully dressed.

And if I were the mother of the young man that was her date, I would not let him go with her. Someone should have checked her at the door...before she left the house *SMH*

This is what happens when parents choose not to parent.

Sorry to crash, but since when are ribbons and a mini-skirt formal attire? did I miss that memo? Thankfully, the freeway was closed so I couldn't chaperone prom this year.

This whole thread is a mess! I almost died from laughing so hard and I was at work trying not to laugh on the phone with customers. The "Gary Coleman in a sea of darkwashed denim" did it for me...I almost flatlined at that one. The "Thundercat" was a classic, lol. Thanks for brightening up my day. *smile*

It was a local one. I was rushing for work and I had just pulled into the parking garage, but I did hear the DJ's trying to tell her that she was wrong. She started getting upset and was telling them that everyone didn't know the whole story.

She also mentioned that she and her mother are on bad terms and she was raised by her grandmother. Supposedly, her grandmother had seen the dress and had no problems with it.

I find that hard to believe. I wore a short skirt (3 inches above the knee) to a dance and my grandfather stopped me. He wanted to know if my mother knew that I wore handkerchiefs for skirts. He then went on to tell me that I was "going to get arthritis in my legs" from the cold air. The dance was in June.
