Let's see.......

AEPhi did Night at the Improv, with college-based improv troupes. After I graduated, they switched to AEPhi Live, a takeoff of SNL. Now they do Phi Cup, which is a hockey competition. They also do a spaghetti dinner every fall.

Alpha Phi used to do the Gong Show. Later they switched to Alpha Phlea Market.

AXO did a lip sync contest.

Sigma Kappa did a talent show.

Theta did a casino night.

Phi Kappa Sigma did Skuffle, a Halloween party held in alternate years. A few years back it was shut down for building code violations, so they may have discontinued it.

AEPi hosts a break-fast after Yom Kippur and a Passover seder.

Can't think of anything else offhand...

my brother goes to Bethany, and apparently the Phi Mu's did "Bouncing for Boobs" or something like that, where they bounced on those hop-a-long balls for a certain amount of time to raise $$ for breast cancer research. I thought that was great.

At West Virginia University..

-Alpha Phi does King of Hearts (male beauty pageant)
-Alpha Xi Delta does Ultimate Frisbee
-Delta Gamma does Anchor Bowl (frats play football against each other)
-Kappa Kappa Gamma I think does some kind of mini golf thing

..I'm not sure what the other sororities (Pi Phi, Sigma Kappa, AOPi, and Chi O do)

-Beta Theta Pi and KA do a karaoke thing
-Phi Psi does volleyball
-Phi Sigma Kappa does "fantasia" which I'm not sure is the same thing every year, but last year is was all the sororites playing basketball together
-Delta Tau Delta does the Delt Bowl (sororities play football against eachother, girls get VERY into it)
-Sigma Chi does Derby Days (biggest philanthropy, Sigma Chi throws a HUGE party at the end of the week in a huge field about 30 minutes from school, just a day long drinking fest and bands come and play)

..That's all I know for the frats, there's like 10 philanthropies I don't know about.

At GMU

We (Phi Sigma Kappa) do Dance for the Cure in conjuction with Alpha Phi Alpha. It's an on-campus dance to raise money for prostate cancer research. As far as parties go, we do Mardi Gras in the Spring--it's probably one of the top three or four parties of the year.

Sigma Chi of course has Derby Days

Pike has Pike-toberfest--a really big party in the fall

SigEp and Pike sometimes do a big pig roast together at the end of the year

can't think of what the other six do

as far as sororities go,

Gamma Phi Beta and Alpha Xi Delta both do football tournaments, Alpha Phi does a dodgeball or basketball tournament, ZTA does Big Man on Campus...not sure what Chi O and AOPi do that's really big--they do about a million smaller things each though

At Adelphi:

AEPhi - Singled Out
Tri Delta - Bachelor Auction (co-host with SAAC)
DG - Anchor Bowl
SDT - Campus Cutie

The Sammies don't do much, but one year they did "Sammy Survior" (and I won!).

The Kappa Sigmas can't do anything until they are an official colony, but they asked us to do "The Price is Right" with them next year. The plans are in the works.

We do an annual lecture series which is great because the alumni get involved and come back for it, and we earn a lot of bonus points with the campus administration.

At Minnesota, we still allow Sweetheart Competitions (which I think are great)!
Once a year, a woman from each sorority runs to be XYZ fraternity's token woman of the year, and the men in turn run to be ABC sorority's token man of the year. Each of these competitions are philanthropy- and house participation-based, and last about a week (Panhel and IFC try not to schedule more than one a week). Since the event needs to raise money, there's usually a big benefit event associated with each week like-
nacho feed
ice cream social/rootbeer floats
french fry feed
chilli cookoff
dunk tank
creme pie throw
tricycle races
car smash
5K run/walk
battle of the bands
etc...
