Just watched the second episode! I couldn't think of the word succubus while I was watching it, so thank you VandalSquirrel! I just kept thinking she must be some type of evil matchmaker/Aphrodite-esque character.
Can't wait to see what happens to Jessica's family and Lafayette!

Oh wow, last night's episode was great! I have a sneaking suspicion that its Mary Ann that was the "creature" that attacked Sookie. And some ancient demon type thing would play right into that whole "Head of a bull" thing. Wasnt that the Minotaur in ancient legend? And I remember her talking to Tara and the other guy (cant remember his name) about that painting and she was talking about the greek gods/goddesses. Whatever she is, I am quite sure its no good! And I am SO glad that Sookie was able to get Lafayette out of there, although who knows what is going to happen to him now! I really like Jessica the vampire.......I think Bill is WAY too hard on her.

I thought the creature that attacked Sookie was MaryAnn also. I was also really glad Sookie got Lafayette out of there. I think Jason is coming to his senses? I hope, anyway. I think Bill is hard on Jessica because of his own guilt for having made her in the first place.
I haven't decided yet whether I think Jessica purposely manipulated Sookie so that she could attack her father or whether it was an impulse once there. Did she intend to just look at the house? Or did she plan all along to interact with them? The other thing that bothers me about that whole thing is that we know how the media park themselves at someone's house with a missing kid like that. Why wasn't the place teeming with reporters who would have seen her go to the house? Oh well. Since it's a story about vampires, shape shifters, psychic phenomena, etc, I guess that little piece of unreality is acceptable.

I don't think Jason is coming to his senses.
I do think he's going to end up doing the minister's wife.

Yeah, she doesn't make her banana pudding for just anyone
I am still that "Light of Day" sounds so much like "Latter Day" and the adult camp (Light of Day Institute) reminds me of the movie Jesus Camp. The LDS center on campus is referred to as the Institute, so it is getting harder for me to believe there aren't some intentional connections. They even created a website for the fictional church http://www.fellowshipofthesun.org/ On their news page of that spoof site there is even a video on "A New Storm Gathering" the Prop 8 related stuff can't get any more obvious.
I <3 Lafayette

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I LOVE the Light of Day website LOLOLOLOLOLOL! I was suspecting all along that he had something to do with the disappearance of Godric, the vamp that Sookie and Bill are looking for in TX. Jason is going to get himself killed I think, cause just as I suspected, they ARE behind it.
And I really freakin want to know JUST what Mary Ann is!
Im starting to like Eric more and more too. This season is awesome. I think its even better than last season.

Maenad from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maenad
"In Greek mythology, maenads were the female followers of Dionysus..."
Maenadic practices: the Bacchanalia
Cultic rites associated with worship of the Greek god of wine, Bacchus (or Dionysus), allegedly characterized by maniacal dancing to the sound of loud music and crashing cymbals, in which the revelers, called Bacchantes, whirled, screamed, became drunk and incited one another to greater and greater ecstasy. The goal was to achieve a state of enthusiasm in which the celebrants’ souls were temporarily freed from their earthly bodies and were able to commune with Bacchus/Dionysus and gain a glimpse of and a preparation for what they would someday experience in eternity after their resurrection. The rite climaxed in a performance of frenzied feats of strength and madness, such as uprooting trees, tearing a bull (the symbol of Dionysus) apart with their bare hands, an act called sparagmos, and eating its flesh raw, an act called omophagia. This latter rite was a sacrament akin to communion in which the participants assumed the strength and character of the god by symbolically eating the raw flesh and drinking the blood of his symbolic incarnation. Having symbolically eaten his body and drunk his blood, the celebrants believed they became possessed by Dionysus. The main shrines where these rites took place were at Delphi and Eleusis.

I'm liking Eric more and more, esp. with the new haircut. I also loved the line from last weeks episode, "Is there blood in my hair?" That was funny.
And Hoyt (is that his name?) going for Jessica? Shocking, yet cool. I hope they don't kill him off.

There's a great article with spoilers for next season and the rest of this season in this week's Entertainment Weekly.
If you're a fan, I encourage the read.
BTW, how many of you know that Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer (Bill) are dating IRL? They've apparently been together since the pilot episode.

I dont know if any of them will survive it, including the humans. Bill and Lorena are outside when it happens right? Im guessing they go in after and save Jason and Sookie with their blood. I REALLY hope Eric and Godric dont get killed tho, I like them

Bill and Lorena were outside. But what sucks is that Jason was standing right there when the bomb exploded. I would hope the writers wouldn't kill him off the show.
Yea, Eric has really grown on me during the last 2 episodes. I can't wait to see what may or may not happen b/w him and Sookie. (Though I do love Bill with Sookie.)
