Actually, Arya, it's the University of Richmond NOT Richmond University. Richmond College still exists as the male residence college (for women it is Westhampton College) I just graduated from there in May and Sig Ep just came back to campus at the end of the spring. Congrats!

Arya----It is the University of Richmond, NOT Richmond University. I just graduated from UR in the spring. Richmond College is still the name of the men's residential college (for women it is Westhampton College). Sig Ep just came back to campus at the end of the spring semester so they have only been back for a few months.

According to several sources I've read, the first U.S. Greek Letter Society was/is Phi Beta Kappa (now the academic honorary) which was founded in 1776, at William and Mary.
