in actuality my mommy did call
yay! she cares after all!
and to my surprise, so does GC
thanks for the well wishes, all the ones that i see
however, i awoke to my alarm, 5:30am
WTF is happening in my ear, sheer mayhem?
the left one is ringing, is someone singing?
oh no! i have an infection
i call my mommy but i cant speak with decent inflection
she sugarcoats nothing and says, "go to the ER,
go while its early, tell the nurse to tell the doctor 'please see her!'"
in a new neighborhood, where is this hospital to be?
if you recall i just moved, im on my own you see
luckily i find st joseph's without a hitch
between paying for parking and this earache, aint this a b!tch?
the doc, with much ease, tells me "ooh, your ear, inside its red,
infection indeed, take this antibiotic and go to bed!"
me: can i have a day off, perhaps two?
MD: sure, why not, do what you have to do!

fast forward to now, and my ear is still a mess
my throat is still sore, but it hurts much much less
i made some "tea" comprised of cayenne and honey
and lemon too, a better fix for less money
a few sips later, the throat is clear - for now
want the recipe for yourself? ill tell you how!

its quite simple, make sure the water is hot
i used the microwave but you may like the teapot
mix in some cayenne, and honey and lemon
do it all at home, not in Yemen or in Bremen!
season to taste, i personally like it sweet
cause too much pepper, and boy, you will feel the heat!

swallow and repeat for 15 minutes
scared? well, you gotta be in it to win it!

ok now im a little hungry
wouldve ordered from chung li
but i opted for pizza instead
off to eat it in bed!

:end scene:

Oh, poor little rhyme thread,
lingering again on the second page
I'll come give you a bump
to put you back up on center stage.

I can't believe it's only Wednesday
it's the week that won't die
I'm cranky and crampy
oh, sorry, guys, TMI?

Today is Hump day, tis true
I am wearing a turtleneck
the color of which is Royal Blue.

The staff meeting this morning was good
My unit (the hosts) did our best to inspire a feeling
of team-hood :P

Nittanyalum,
thank you so for this thread.
It gives me a chance to exercise
the muscle which resides in my head.
(ps: sorry about the cramps,
perhaps you should get thee into a bed)

Don't know how I missed this thread,
I do check GC at least once before bed.

I had to add on to this rhyming of words.
All I can say this is not for the birds!

Cool thread.
I wish I would have thought of this one, but it just wasn't in my head.
I'm no good at this, because I can't rhyme.
If I tried to make money doing it, I wouldn't have a dime.

Surprise, surprise when I logged on GC,
a thread with a topic that puzzled me.
Discussion about protection and such,
Daemon saying something about being a carpet munch..
Er, I really couldn't get down with the conversation,
dental dams, oh my, must be some HEAVY relations.
I'm going to bed, with eye lids so heavy;
tomorrow I get to drive hubby's brand new Chevy.

So here's a bump
oh me, oh my,
doggone it
I will not let this die!

Leave soon, I must be going
to the doctor's office
In the midst of rush hour traffic
The flow of which will be slowing.

I drank too much water today.
I feel so full.
Will I come back after the appointment?
I dont know.
That decision, I will delay.

An email I received about going on a cruise.
I've never been on one.
My shin hurts, I think I have a bruise.

Can we say "bump" just one more time
Here I am again trying to think of a rhyme

If your rhymes reek like an old stink bomb
There's no need to fear; try www.rhymezone.com

I'm with nittanyalum; this thread will not die
we'll keep it alive if we think and we try

on to other news; I'm missing my fave shows
this writers' strike has got to go

even the Oscars may see a delay
until these writers get more pay

I want to know what's new on Wisteria Lane
Carlos' blind. Will Gaby's affections wane?

Reality shows will run amok
Flavor of Love 3? What the ....

Bring the writers back at any cost
Until then, ABC still has Lost

^^^Bravo on all of the above!!! But I particularly love the 2nd to last stanza.

ETA: Ok, OCD kicking in, couldn't leave this without a rhyme... um, been a while since I've seen Tony Danza!

To the strike I say phooey
The studio heads are full of doody.

I had weird dreams again last night
Involving Justin Timberlake and me
not acting right

I went to the doctor yesterday
We both agreed I was doing better
I felt I looked good in my blue blouse
and black sweater

Tomorrow I leave to go see my daughter
In her first ever play
She's the fairy godmother
And I will enjoy my time away

Rhymezone.com is very cool
What rhymes with cool?
Yule, power tool and veterinary school

So, this is it
My last attempt
And I've done this rhyme
Bit by bit

*thanks rhymezone.com

Today is the day I get a new car
What I'm getting will make feel like a star
My old car was hard to maintain
So I'm trading it in, because it was a pain
By this evening the cold weather will be good and plenty
And by tonight, I'll be rolling in my new Mini.
