Look, y'all I have no shame: "Chicken Run" was GREAT!

I rented "American Beauty" and it was really good. I knew what was going to happen, but I loved it anyway.

As far as "The Usual Suspects:" I think that was obvious halfway through, but I love this one phrase: "He'll flip ya! he'll flip ya!"

I'm with you Onesavvydiva,

I like anything with Harrison Ford, Denzel, Nicholas Cage, or Nia Long...got to stop there though. I'm not a Jim Carey or Chris Tucker fan.

I also agree with the Marlon thing. You guys have got to be kidding - Marlon Wayans is cute?!?!

Back to Nicholas Cage, my favorite Nicholas movie is "The Rock" - but wait, maybe I like that movie because it also has Sean Connery in it

Oh yea, I also like Antonio Banderas (sp) and Anthony Hopkins, and Cuba Gooding, Jr, and of course anything with Angela Bassett.

Now, why haven't any of you blockbuster fans mentioned my all time favorite sci-fi movie? Are there any "Matrix" fans out there?

Back to recent movies, I loved "Shaft" cracked my side watching "Big Momma's House" and it's a shame but I haven't seen anything else. I do plan to see the X-men as soon as I can bribe one of my friends into babysitting for me.

I tend to wait for everything to come on video, my nickname is "Blockbuster Queen", (right after "Internet Junkie"), but I love to curl up and watch a good movie "a la VCR".

The Sixth Sense
Air Force One
Sliding Doors

Anything with Jim Cary, Harrison Ford, Denzel Washington, Nicholas Cage, Nia Long, CHRIS TUCKER(my future husband)...
anyway, I just went blank, hope this gets you started

Ooops! Sorry for the (sort of) duplicate posts...there was a problem with the first one (so I thought), hence the second one. The classroom scene with the cigarette smoking teacher was hilarious! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the rating should have been more than R.

I thoroughly enjoyed "Big Momma's House", but I must agree with AXO ALUM concerning "Me, Myself, and Irene". I did not like the movie; it wasn't as funny as some of Jim Carrey's other movies.

I love any movies with Denzel Washington, Angela Bassett, Harrison Ford, &/or Nia Long. Going waaayyyy back, did anyone see "Love Jones"? I don't think that movie was as well received as it should have been. It was a good movie.

Taykimson, I agree with your assessment of "The Matrix", I think that's my favorite sci-fi movie. I usually don't like action movies, but that movie was excellent.

Salience- you are not they only one who saw chicken run! Me and my little brother were laughing like we had just smoked some of that silly weed! Big Momma's house had me slapping my best friend, because my laughing started getting a little out of control. Road Trip was very funny- especially the secret hand shake with the black frat. I can still watch the Matrix and be amazed in the first five minutes with Trinity's frozen leap. Love and Basketball was a beautiful movie. My favorite of all times has to be Friday because I live between Normandie and Western (ya'll know what I'm talkin' about!!)
And speaking of Samuel L. Jackson - if you saw Shaft and Pulp Fiction (another great movie) did you hear his "This is some repugnant shit" line in both movies? Thanks for the B-Day wishes ZetaAce - the count down has started. Onesavvydiva- Haaaapy Birrrrrth daaaaay toooooooo uuuuuuuuuuuu!!! Cancers are crawling out of the woodworks!

I haven't seen to many movies lately. Haven't seen to much of anything lately except the inside of the place(s) of my employement.(but that's a different story)

Scream 3 was actually pretty good. I really want to see Scary Movie. ( if it's as cheesy as everyone hear says then it will be a welcomed relief)

Happy Birthday to all the July people here. Mine is July 13th

Scary Movie- I enjoyed this movie too. There were a lot of borderline XXX/Gross parts, vut I laughed a lot. It was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. All of the Wayans (except for the sister) were in it.

Samuel Jackson-I saw Jungle fever the other day, and I forgot he was in that too!!

Recently I rented:

Three to Tango- funny!
Songs of the Heart - Long but worth it
The Straight Story - long, slow, but a great "rainy day-warm the heart" movie
Universal Soldier II - pointless but great brainless entertainment
Three Kings - gory
Green Mile - great story
House on Haunted Hill - freaky mind twister

I have always been a Whoopi Goldberg fan and rent one of these if I can't think of anything else:
Jumping Jack Flash - old, but still one of her best!
Burgler - '80's comedy, but great
Corina Corina - great story
and who could forget her first: The Color Purple...

Faced with the Divine, I was asked; "What one gift do you seek?"
I answered ever so meekly; "I seek Honor, Truth, Integrity, and Wisdom, yet those are four. How am I to choose?"
The answer came as a pounding whisper; "The four you seek are but one. I grant thee Compassion; for without it the four make none."

Scary Movie was off the chain. I am sitting hear laughing as I think about it. some of the scenes were a little past risque (I hope I spell that right), but overall it was a good movie. Don't take anyone that dosen't know any thing about sex or someone who you don't want to explain certain scenes to, though.
I enjoyed the movie and if you need a good laugh go and see it.

Thumbs up

I saw Scary Movies last night. I laughed at it more than I laughed at Big Momma's house though. Please don't go see this movie with your mother. Just a word of advise. The Cancers are coming in strong!!!

I just rented Sleepy Hollow from pay per view. I haven't seen anything that graphic since Braveheart. I loved the movie, even though I had to watch it several times to get the full picture because my digital cable keeps doing this funny "digital squares" thing. I recommend it (if no one here hasn't already) but it is NOT for the weak stomached.

Let's see...what movies have I seen this summer so far...:
Mission Impossible II: Ok, it was pretty interesting, but it only got real good towards the end. So basically, you'd be paying $8.50 for 35 minutes worth of action.
Big Mommas House: It was OK. If you want to see it, catch a matinee( I hope I spelled that right
Scary Movie: Ok, I really enjoyed this movie. It was extrememly silly. Go with a bunch of your sorors and you'll have a blast
Shaft: A definite movie to see. If you see nothing else this summer-see Shaft-can you dig it?
I hope I was of some help

I saw scary movie the other day and found it quite funny. I probably found it funnier talking about the movie afterwards than when i was sitting through it. Some of the scenes were so stupid you couldn't help but laugh. It's definitely something you go see with a group of your friends for a few laughs.
