In my humble opinion, there aren't any NPHC traditions and practices that annoy me. I think things are fine the way they are, and would be unneccessary to change anything.

We all know I am a neo, so I have soooo much to learn, but of what has been said this is what I identify with most.

People who think their chapter was founded and their organization was chartered. They place their chapter above the organization.

One of my friends (of course soror, but we are really tight) visited a chapter meeting and we felt like at the way the National Hymn. We were singing it (according to what current protocol says) the right way and there way we neos were going to say ANYTHING (b/c we didn't want to come off af correcting them), but we were surely confused.

I only know one stroll and I. AM. DONE. Some of the others are tooo long, only go with one song, and I would have to be on dancing with the stars to learn some of them.

Where has the Greek spirit gone? It bothers me that some members of the D9 take the "friendly competition" too far to the point of intended harm.

I agree. It's a huge deal in Minnesota and it bothers me when I'm in the middle of it.

I concur the grinding in all of the steps shows really can go... points should really be deducted for overtly explicit movements!

^^^ Basically. If you can't do a real show without making it resemble a BET video, you shouldn't be stepping. That includes whipped cream and that dang pyramid of men. That pyramid is so

You could have fooled me. Every show I go to and they have men grinding all over the floor it seems to get a favorable response from the audience. And I hate it!

Don't forget that the audience is full of young non-Greeks that will give a hellafied response because they don't know how unsavory the act really is. This adds to the audience response score if that's in the criteria.

The Greeks that recognize the poor taste can sometimes be in the minority.

TIMEOUT.... Do you mean they did the pyramid of women? That isn't as impressive anymore because it's overdone, and it's not stepping, but it's better than seeing dudes in a pile moving in rhythm to a baby-making song. I'm crossing my fingers and believing that you did not see sorority women with whipped cream.

*in my best Chandler Bing voice* Could you be any more elitist?

That bolded part got under my skin. I thought our collective purpose as Black Greeks was to uplift. Part of uplifting would be to provide positive role models for everyone, not just those who already know us. There's young girls that will be debutantes or are fighting some tough circumstances who might not have the first clue about sorority life but could be inspired by our sorors and sistergreeks. They may want to be like us someday. However, watching some pornographic simulation as a twisted portrayal of organizational pride is shameful display that could confuse young girls. It could confuse those who have not been exposed yet but are bound to be exposed at some point in life.

Yeah, strolling gets really complicated when you look at undergrads doing their thang at a function. If I can't get those new school strolls, I always have "Old Faithful". But trying to learn too many of these newer strolls can make you lose an important phone number in your memory because you remembered one too many 8 counts to a stroll.

I am not greek but I have tons of greek friends. One thing that bothers me is strolling at a non-greek party. Its like how do you expect "townies" to not break the stroll line if they dont know what the h e double hockey sticks you're doing. Then they start fighting.....its just stupid to me.
