i agree tld221-the expertise just doesn't seem to be there this season.
xokathy, i appreciate hearing from a dancer-i took piano lessons. i don't like the raised leg, flexed, not pointed foot. heck, i could do that, and i'm no dancer. and i think the crotch shots are tacky.

I was hoping for more from Benji.
Love his personality and energy, but it just didn't come across in that solo.
It will be exciting to see what Lacey can do.

No comments about last night...?
My favorite couples are (in no particular order):
Dominic and Sabra
Lacey and Kameron
Pasha and Jessie
Anya and Danny
Jesus and Sara
I don't care for Neil and Lauren at all and I don't know what the judges saw because I thought the routine was boring.
I don't think Faina is really that great and Cedric is a one-note hip-hop dancer.
I like Jimmy, but not Shauna; however I did like that choreography and I thought they both did it rather well.
Hok and Jaimie are okay, but IMO they are better separately than they are dancing together.

ok so i caught the last 5 minutes, and saw that Faina or whatever her name is is gone (thank goodness, she irritated me and wasn't that good)
so what happened during the show? who were the bottom 3 couples?

I was glad she left too. In fact, I was happy with Jimmy leaving too. I didn't even know his name, so worked for me. And I was all about Nigel telling Cedric not to screw up again, but did you see his 'dance for your life' -- omigosh, it was crazy. Shauna's really was great, as much as I don't like her otherwise.
So the bottom three were...
1) Faina and Cedric
2) Shauna and Jimmy
3) Jessie and Pasha (totally didn't deserve it)
I really liked Dominic and Sabra's routine this past week. Like Mia said, all the hooks were great!
My favourites:
-Lacey and Kameron (but I think I really like Lacey and don't ever pay attn to Kam)
-Pasha and Jessie
-Dominic and Sabra
And I like Neil. I'm not sure why, but I do. I thought I'd like Lauren more before the top 20 started, but alas, I do not.

I was really surprised they kept Cedric instead of Jimmy. I didn't like Faina, but she was the only good part of their routine this week, and I think it was unfair to get rid of her and keep Cedric.
I thought both Shauna and Jimmy did a better job dancing for their lives. I bet Shauna walked away pissed off that she saved herself but now she has to dance with Cedric and is just going to land in the bottom again.
I agreed with the judges that Jessie's solo dance sucked, but I didn't agreed that Pasha's was bad...I kinda liked his.

I didn't see Jessie's solo, but I did see Pasha's and liked it. I think he shows he can be "ballroom" but still interesting. And their duet the night before I turned on as they started dancing and I thought he was one of the modern dancers (I hate the word contemporary...it's modern dang it!!!) - so I look forward to more from him.
I can't believe they kept Cedric over Jimmy. They got rid of the other really great, technical dancer last week (Ricky?) and then get rid of another this week? I personally think there are way too many hip-hoppers left. I thought the head spinner guy (Dominic?) did great with his piece and was really impressed he stepped out of the box so successfully.
I'm glad Faina is gone!!!!

Last season, didn't they switch partners every week? I think that would be better than having someone stuck with the same partner who isn't cutting it.
I also wish they would have a show where they would "explain" the different dance types and what to expect. I don't have a dance background and am confused as to what to look for in some of the types of dance.

They did that first season but not last year. I think the new format has its benefits. The more you dance with someone, the more you get to learn their techniques and how to merge your styles together. It just sucks for people who have a partner who isn't learning and growing as the weeks go on.

Predictions for this week?
Cedric and hopefully that Jessi chick. She dances like a stripper.
I'm also calling this - at some point in the season, one couple will do a dance to the "Umbrella" song by Rihanna, complete with umbrellas as props. On that same note, am I crazy or did Alison and Ivan do a dance using umbrellas last season?
