The preview for next week looks intense.

When given the green light, the writers (IMVHO) had nothing to lose by throwing the book out.
As for renewal, I have not seen or heard what the numberer's have been like.
Saw only one article that that throw out an aside that ratings were not high.
I too would love to see more of show.

I just took a look a CBS's Jericho message board.
The are fans that, while watching the show, are doing blow by blow commentary.

Due to lack of viewers, CBS has pulled the plug on show.
this weeks will be the last one which, per CBS, will offer closure.

Well I read those CBS Jericho boards a bit and apparently the producers are shopping it around. Also some areas of Canada get to see it a day early [probably only reason I'd want to be in Canada] and some of those posters have stated it doesn't provide "closure" so much as not being a "cliffhanger".
I want it to stay on, I thoroughly enjoy this show, only one I watch on a regular basis.

There are plenty of cable networks that could pick it up for the right price. I hope it stays on.

I thought highly of show as well.
IIRC from reading CBS boards, NBC turned it down. I would love to see it on TNT but who knows
At least CBS cut it loose while there could be time for others to pick it up.
Unlike ABC and VU.

Wow! That's not closure, that is just not a cliffhanger. There are tons of story arcs that could and should be explored. I hope it gets picked up by some network. Maybe they could film 2-3 seasons at once, pay the bills then if they decide to cancel on tv finish the rest online or sell a dvd of the remaining episodes. I would pay money for this show.
What did y'all think?

DAMMM!
What a great ep and what a sad way to end what could have been a great run.
In some ways I feel how I felt when ABC spiked VU; a lost of a piece of my entertainment. A product put together by what must have been a great mix of cast, staff and crew. Who are all now out of work.
We can only hope that a major cable company picks show up.
Damm

I would even take a movie or two.
I am talking big screen.
And then there is this bit from Sci-Fi:

Jericho would do well on cable, where there aren't the ratings demands of network. I think it would be good for FX, TNT or HBO.
I'd love to watch the American Civil War: Part 2!

Yeah, but I would prefer to get it on network TV, I don't have cable and b/c all I do is kill batteries from flipping through the stations since nothing good is ever on.
Also Big brother had a smaller share than Jericho yet it stays on...I hate reality TV.

Reality shows cost less than 1/2 of a scripted show..

Please don't take this the wrong way, and I do understand that reality shows are cheaper to produce etc., but do you have any numbers? I mean I want to see a side by side comparison and I can't seem to find anything like that.

Quiet tip of the
hat to CBS's 'Jericho'
Disappointing end for fan-revived disaster drama
By Toni Fitzgerald
Mar 26, 2008
It was a subdued farewell for “Jericho” last night. Ten months after CBS revived the post-apocalypse drama following a campaign by rabid fans, the show drew its second-lowest rating of the season for its series finale.
CBS canceled the show last week because of disappointing ratings for season two.
“Jericho” averaged a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating, according to Nielsen overnights, off 5 percent from the previous week’s 2.0 and down 27 percent from a 2.6 for the second-season premiere last month.
“Jericho” nearly matched a season-low 1.8 rating, set earlier this month, but at least fans got a little closure this time when the show left the air.
