It was. Don't know where Tom got the idea it was founded in Kansas City. (And before anyone starts to argue about it: Krispy Kreme Doughnuts History -- move your curser over 1937.)
Krispey Kremes by a longshot. A hot Krispey Kreme is food of the gods.
Dunkin' Donuts aren't even the same league as Krispey Kremes -- they might as well be grocery-store bought.
Interesting to watch what happens in the office when people bring in doughnuts. If KK get brought in, you better move fast or you won't get one. If it's DD, there are usually still quite a few hanging around after lunch if you want one for dessert. Apparently, I'm not the only one here who finds it impossible to pass on a KK and very easy to pass on a DD.

Alright, I probably shouldn't say this but I will.
There was a sorority on campus who wasn't exactly known as the skinny girls. One year they made shirts with the Krispey Kreme logo, except they put their sorority name in there instead of Krispy Kreme.
The other sororities were not so friendly and ragged on them HARDCORE for those shirts, and their hefty size. lol

Again though, that totally depends on where you are. Whenever Dunkin Donuts are brought into my office, they're gone within a few minutes. I swear, DD is like a religion around here (although I think they're only average; personally I'd rather have KK as well).

Quite true.
That said, I simply cannot fathom preferring DD to KK. To each his own. though, however incomprehensible his own may be.

Neither! A few people here on GC might know what I am talking about by saying one word: Schuler's....

Dunkin hands down. Krispy Kreme was good at first, now they're crap. The perils of being too successful...
Oh, and who remembers Mister Donut and/or Donut Connection? (I think they might have been the same thing)

33, I found a Mister Donut when I was in Bangkok. They're still around!
I love any kind of donut, really. DD is right around the corner from Casa Munch, but there's nothing like a hot KK donut!

I guess if you are talking boxed KK's you find in the grocery store, instead of fresh from the KK store's oven... Otherwise it is like comparing fresh baked chocolate chip cookies to Chips Ahoy.
KK gets my vote for donuts and DD for coffee!
