LOLZ! That cheesy-ass soul stuff is probably the only thing I like from the 80s. 99% of everything -- music, fashion, tv, etc. from the 80s was horrible.

We called those rompers. Boy, were they stylin' around here! I have a picture of me and my two older sisters at my dance recital, and they're wearing those hideous things...with their Sam & Libby flats, of course.

I remember during the early 80's:

Velcro purses...

Roach clips as hair accessories...

Jelly shoes...

Jelly purses and tote bags...

Vans sneakers were extremely popular...

Dove/Dolphin two-toned shorts that were banned from schools because they were too short (the were track shorts if I remember correctly)...

Farrah Fawcett hair was in...

The Tuxedo look for girls was in...

Bubble gum shaped like cigarettes that would "smoke" when you blew on one end of the gum (it was powdered gum)...

In the mid 80's, I remember...

Leg warmers....

Sweater vests...

Blue eye shadow...

In the late 80's, I remember...

Long permed hair...

Long permed hair with Sun-In....

*I remember when Trix cereal WAS NOT fruit shaped, it was circular, and there were only 3 colors (red, blue and yellow).

*I loved Crunchy Stars cereal and the Chef.

*I watched Nickelodeon's "You can't do that on Television".

*I owned the original "Skip It".

*I had Atari with Qbert, Pac Man, and Pong.

*I owned a purple Trapper Keeper.

*My elementary school backpack had a real working clock on it (a la Flava Flave).

In the 80s I went to a few Depeche Mode concerts.....and then somehow almost 20 years flew by and I am going to see them in December in NYC. The new album is awesome and for some reason, even though it has not been released yet, you can listen to it at

Okay now what about the neon pink mini skirts with lime green polka dots - can't forget that fashion statement.

Of course there was also the sight of girls wearing pumps with their jeans.

All the one hit wonders of the 80's.

Good old MTV VJs Downtown Julie Brown and Martha (can't remember her name but she does an 80 music commercial now).

ON TV - the first cable system in Los Angeles that I remember.

The Tshirts that we tied up using a little plastic round belt buckle thing (old age is catching up to me I can't remember what they were called).

Fame the TV series - I used to love that show. Wish some station would pick it up in syndication.
