$3.09 here and I don't think too many people have even noticed. Most students rarely drive. I'm rethinking driving home this weekend.

$3.06 for cheap here and $3.50 for high-end. Most of the smaller stations closed by 3:30pm today because they were out. I don't midn the higher gas prices as it has been $5.00-$6.00 per gallon in other countries for years and I feel lucky that I still have a house to go home too. Sorry if this sounds bitter, but I dealt with way too many costumers today who didn't seem to realize how lucky they were and I had the heartening experience of meeting several people who are in Western NC seeking refuge and have no idea when they can go back home.

Surprisingly, I haven't seen it quite reach over $3/gallon here. It's at $2.99 in some places... but not quite 3. You can still get gas for $2.80 at the cheap places.

Of course, this could all change by tomorrow morning.

Yep. The lines were crazy.

They have closed the gas lines in North Carolina. No gas will be coming in until next Tuesday. What little there was here in Raleigh is gone.

Most gas stations in ATL are out of gas even in the FAR northern suburbs (Forsyth County for those who live here).

I was lucky and paid 3.11 for premium yesterday after work (that's all they had left), but my husband paid 3.29 for regular near the airport. I have seen prices at 4.79 and 4.99 in the metro area.

I know that here in NC, it's not illegal until it's done after the Governor has declared a state of disaster.

There were over 500 complaints about gas price gouging to the Illinois Attorney General's office yesterday alone. Here's a story about that.

There's definitely some going on where I live. The 3 stations close to my house are at $3.26-$3.29 for regular. About 2 miles down the road, just over the town border, the stations are at $2.89. (I topped off today...at the pump I was using the price for Ultimate was the same as the price for regular...that was cool. )

Is there a website or some sort of resource where you can track which area/stations are closed? Mr. AXiD670 and I were supposed to home to FL this weekend to pick up my grandma's dining room table, but we're afraid of getting stuck out on the highway and not being able to refill our tank. I'd like to see if there's something that tracks this sort of thing before we make a decision to not go.

NC residents are being asked to stay home this weekend, so I'm wondering if SC, GA and FL are being told the same thing.

I'm thinking that if you do http://www.charlottegasprices.com they might tell you if stations are closed as well as the prices. There is also http://www.gasbuddy.com that should be a good resource.

I'm in Atlanta, and things here are a bit crazy regarding the gas
situation. DH and I filled up both of our cars at Costco during
lunch yesterday for $2.66 (regular unleaded) a gallon, which isn't
bad right now. Three hours later, on our way to pick up DD after
work, we passed four gas stations. Three were sold out completely and the one open was selling for $3.08. There was a double line of cars on the main street trying to get into the gas station parking lot. It was backing up traffic terribly. On the way home, we passed three other stations that were sold out.

The governor declared a state of emergency and put a limit on the
price increase yesterday afternoon. So, it looks like the prices
can't go any higher than they already are. There are some stations that raised their prices really high just before the governor's announcement, though.

My mom (who lives south of Atlanta in Jonesboro) passed a Kangaroo station on her way home yesterday that was selling at $2.99 and then a mile down the road a BP was selling at $3.69. Mom was so angry at the BP that she drove down the line of waiting cars and told them all to go to the Kangaroo! LOL

So, right now it seems like the prices are going to be okay but the
supply is the trouble... everyone ran out to fill up yesterday and
now most of the stations around us are out of gas.
