Or better yet, find some great campus clubs to join and get involved on campus-- that will keep you busy! Or you could volunteer at an animal shelter or work part-time at a pet store. Or, start a dog-walking and pet-sitting business!

My folks bought me parakeets to keep me some company when I was out of school for the summer, when I was little. They didn't bring me much company. It was a chore to clean up after them and to get them to shut the hell up when we were sleeping. After my last parakeet (that little SOB lived for like 13 years) died last December I promised my self I would never fool around with pets, especially small ones.

I agree this is a funny thread.

I won a goldfish at Greek Week Jamboree sophomore year, but I didn't want it and I couldn't find anyone to take it. So I tried to set it free in a pond (the one behind Dorsey Hall, for mu_agd's reference). I dumped him in and watched him swim around for a minute, after which a HUGE M'FING CARP came up out of the bottom and ate him.

I now feel guilty every time someone says the word 'goldfish.'

Best idea so far. You can feed him, rub him, play with him, and then send him home at the end of the summer.

Problem solved.

As for dorm pets, someone once told me that Oklahoma State had some kind of rule that said that you couldn't have any pet that couldn't survive being underwater for 3 minutes.
Gators and Crocs are in??

You can learn a lot from the Simpsons...

I think I hear crickets chirping somewhere, playing a very sad violin-sounding song. I just said a little prayer for you and your poor tortured soul. That was so sad...

I'm already very involved on campus, thanks. I think I'll get one of the big g---fish, the ones with the bubble faces. (hope that didn't cause any guilt, I tried to block it out...)
