2004 was a stressful year for me..
* studied for the ACTs and SATs
* filled out 8 college applications
* got accepted to half the colleges i applied to (the apps are still pending on the other half)
* i'm finally a senior wahoo
i am sooo looking foward to 2005...
* i graduate high school
* attend college in the fall of '05
* get a new car (hopefully a Jeep Wrangler)
* go through rush and (hopefully) get into a sorority!
it's just going to be a much better year, i can't wait!

Good:
*I grew up a lot. (yes even though you are in your 30s there is time to grow)
*I got a few raises at work
*Got connected with a cousin of mine again
*Started getting cards paid off. The big one will be paid off next month
*Got some new Alpha Phi sisters (including my little, Ariesrising)
*Met some GC buddies in person
*Joined South Puget Sound Panhellenic
*Started peeling off weight I have gained in the past year
*Decided to aggressively work on Mr. 1228's immigration
*Stepson started playing football and got most improved player
*We decided that we will work on adding to our own family starting summer 2005
Not so good:
*Even though I have no relationship with him, I was saddened by my father's stroke
*Lost an uncle to prostate cancer
*Beta Sister Trish being diagnosed with terminal cancer
*Strained relationship with my mother
*Having my id's and keys stolen (car was not touched though)
*lost a dear friend and former coworker to ovarian cancer

Here are a few highlights from my 2004:
• I finally managed to get my own place to live. Hooray!
• I had a fun sports year with attending some baseball games at the new Petco Park and the San Diego Chargers actually having a winning season this year.
• I've gotten more involved with church. I've really enjoyed sharing with people through our drama presentations.
• I STILL haven't finished my dissertation! Grrrrrrr!!
• I got to work another run of the Cirque du Soleil show "Varekai" which is way cool!!
• I've taken on the role of looking after my 87 year old grandfather who lives alone. In that note, I've been continuously stressed over the fact that my uncle, aunt and cousins only visit my grandpa 1-2 times a year and that makes him so upset.
• I have completely failed to obtain a job or even interviews in my chosen field, which is completely frustrating.
• I DID manage to get a full-time temp job just in the last part of December. The HR manager says that they like me so much that they're thinking of offering me a permanent job. Human Resources isn't my first choice in work, but as Xylochick216 said it's "...a job nontheless". So, hey! Maybe 2005 will be my year yet!
• Finally, I WAS INITIATED INTO GAMMA PHI BETA AT THE INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION!!

When one owns a small retail business, it sucked. Tobacco is the demon rum of the 2000s and taking heat from all facets of do gooders.
Cant keep honest people for many reasons, but not because of me. A Great Boss!
Highlight had to be going to Indy for GA of LXA and meeting GCers there.
Damn, may 2005 be better for all!
As for the rest who have had a Great Year, may it continue onward and upward.

The first 6 or 7 months were great. From Sept on, 2004 was pretty crappy.
The Highlights:
Moved in a bigger apartment
Met a guy and had a fling
Signed up for continuing ed classes in HR
Joined Weight Watchers and lost some weight
Paid off some lingering debt
found a new career path
got serious about getting into teaching
found out how tough I could be
The Lowlight:
Got fired from my job that I've had since 6/03. I've never been fired from a job in my life. The emotional stress of the whole unemployment process really took a toll on me

The first 9 months weren't too bad. The last three sucked.

-Traveled out of town by myself for the first time
-Graduated from college
-Did a cool internship, despite the coolness of it, I decided that the advertising field may not be the thing for me
-Continued to watch my chapter blossom
-Seen my paternal grandpa for the first time in years
-I guess I grew up some too. Gained some control over my impulsivity and anger management problems. I don't remember cursing out anyone over a year. And I only acted like an ass maybe once or twice a month, opposed to several times a week, lol.

This was an ok year for me, but nevertheless nothing to complain about either.
* Completed my MBA
* Began working on my youth ministry
* Dumped a loser around this time last year (YAH!)
Really nothing much else, but I am happy to say that I am starting 2005 in better spirits and anxiously awaiting to see what's in store.

Congrats to everyone for their successes!
My 2004:
-took in a stray cat who has become the most loving creature you'd ever meet
-got a brand new car (after my old one blew up on me)
-hubby got his dream car- Mustang convertable
-bought a townhouse
-quit the dead-end job in retail
-got a job (that pays almost 2x as much) as an admin. assistant
-got to spend Christmas with my family
-have done well with my health (both mentally and physically)
-took a class in child day care and realized that it is NOT what I want to do (1 down, only several hundred other career paths to try out)
Good luck to all in 2005!
