I love music with that 70s disco sound.

I'm digging that new single (and video) by Madonna called "Hung up." That takes me back to that era.

I'm an old soul when it comes to music.

I love any type of music, from classic r+b (with the Philly sound) to hard rock (I love Led Zeppelin's "Cashmir"). My mother raised me on country (Dolly Parton, Ricky Skaggs, Kenny Rogers) and blues (Koko Taylor and Johnny "Guitar" Watson) and my grandma made sure I had big doses of gospel. I just love music.

I have in my cd player:

Best of Phyllis Hyman (such a beautiful voice)
John Coltrane's Love Supreme
Maroon 5 (I have a "secret" crush on Adam Levine o: )
Toni Tony Tone's House of Blues
Miles Davis' Love Songs
Tye Tribbett & GA's Life

[sidebar] Urbanizd--I've really been thinking about getting Kirk's new cd Hero. I didn't care too much for Rebirth or Nu Nation Project (loved him w/ "the Family" and "GP"). Out of four stars, how many would you give Hero? [/end sidebar]

One of my closest friends went to school with Phonte. Phonte guests on Foreign Exchange with Nicolay, and my friend played it the ENTIRE time I was in ATL this weekend. Its a hip hop/jazz combo thing that works well. I like it.

You must learn to love classical, it's good for the soul, lol. I actually learned to appreciate it because I had to study it. Once I did that and kind of understood what I was listening to, it was okay to me.

Yes we have music in common song game rival

Sorry I JUST noticed this! Anyhow, it's most DEFINITELY 4 out of 4 stars. Then again, I'm a Kirk Franklin fan. You should visit Amazon and check out the CD snippets but I personally believe this is one of his best albums.

just starting to get into jazz and blues.

anyone into african music? starting to get into koru and wossolou. to me it sounds like a cross between hip-hop, indian and soca. which makes sense since music genres come from each other more or less.

as far as hip-hop & r&b are concerned, im pretty much stuck to 1992--1998. so if anyone wants to make me a 90s mix, im with it.

* ending post as babyface's "when can i see you again" comes on *
(and just realized that this is the last song me and my ex listened to together )

I LOVE music! I like the creativity in lyrics and melodies. The only thing I'm not really into are the current rap music songs that are just about cars and money and use zero talent by just sampling every beat in the song. That is not music to me. Junk like "Laffy Taffy", "Back that thing up", and "the Whisper song" would never make into my CD collection.

Some of my favorites are:
Tim McGraw
Diamond Rio
CeCe Winans
Lauryn Hill
Third Eye Blind
Jason Mraz
Babyface
Boyz II Men
Brian McKnight
The Rance Allen Group
John P. Kee
Anything composed by Vivaldi
The Isley Brothers
James Taylor

I really do love all music...my collection contains EVERYTHING, yea is some country (very little....but still)

Right now I am getting my Beatles and Pink Floyd fix, but I also love my 80s music, chick rock (alanis, tori, fiona, kate), PRINCE (own category), the Stones, Bowie.

For some reason I really am into the late 60s/70s rock scene.

World Music, Celtic music (enya, clannad, loreena mckennit)

Then I have to go into my R&B, soul music and the stuff that I grew up with

Then I must have my Vivaldi & Handel fix....

I just love all music...I couldn't even name all of my music collection. I have 4 GB on my computer and TONS of cds....I just love music

I enjoy listening to:

Breakbeats - Breakdances mixes - I used to breakdance

80's music - you may find me singing these around the house

Old Gansta Rap - I know the words to some old school songs!

Hip Hop

POP

R&B/Blues

Neo Soul

Classical - only rarely and only for relaxation

Country - extremely rare, but I like all of Marty Robbins songs and 1 or 2 songs of Garth B.

Some Reggae

Calypso/Soca

Techno - when I'm on the computer

Trance - especially when programming or need concentration

Of course, Merengue & Bachata!!! - I can dance to these

If you like Bachata, check out Aventura
For Merengue check out: Coco Band, Toro Band, Los Sabrosos, Fernando Villalona, and especially Juan Luis Guerra

but I DON'T LIKE SALSA!

I have a lot of MP3s
