Agreed. Fast food places don't have a duty to offer healthy food. If you think it's gross or unhealthy, don't eat it. I haven't had a fast food burger in over 10 years.

I don't care what fast food places have and I still eat there, but damn that is like NASTY. I'd rather eat a 72oz steak that might have a bazillion calories than a nasty burger from Hardee's.

When I was in NYC last year we ate at Roxy's in Times Square. The only person in our group who finished his food was the skinnest kid. Then he started eating mine. I hated that place. I paid $22 for a sandwich that I didn't even eat 1/4 of. If I wanted a pound of lunch meat I would have went to the grocery store. I did not want to eat there at all.

Don't eat in Times Square. The next time that you visit NYC, post a thread in Chit Chat, and all of the GC New Yorkers will tell where to eat.

My thing is I think diet tastes better than regular. I just don't like the sweeter taste of real coke so I would order this if I was wanting to splurge on a big huge burger.

Oh, no! I'm not embarassed because of my size--I think all of the GCers who have met me will testify to the fact that I'm small--I just don't think that being called a camel is particularly flattering!

I love how everyone just assumes that those people who drink diet coke or diet pepsi or diet anything are actually on a diet.

I drink diet coke because I like the way it tastes-not because I'm trying to save on calories. I drink regular pepsi because I prefer it to diet pepsi. I drink diet mountain dew but regular dr. pepper. Its all about taste-not dieting.

I'm actually the same way...the only time I like regular coke better is when it's mixed with Jack.

I can only drink full flavored sodas with alcohol too. I do enjoy dr. pepper full flavored though and root beer.

Dr. Pepper diet is actually pretty good, although I agree on the root beer.

I've just never liked diet sodas with alcohol; the tastes aren't quite right.

By The Way-
Eating too much can lead to diabetes. You have to produce more and more insulin or glycogen to balance your blood sugar and eventually your system doesnt like you anymore.
I guess I'm doing unofficial research to see how long until I get it or something. (4 days in a row of making a box of mac and cheese and eating it all for lunch, 2 of the 4 days I had a can of cherry pie filling for breakfast, just eating nonstop, I guess)

Me too, me too.

Although my favorite drink of all time is diet Mountain Dew with vodka, which everyone else thinks is disgusting, but I can drink it by the gallon. You get the caffeine, the alcohol, and relatively low calories -- what could be better?

But I almost never have normal soda. WAY too sugary for me.

Seriously! Some of the "healthy" stuff at McDonald's has more calories than the Big Mac. If you're craving McDonald's, just go ahead, eat the Big Mac and be done with it.

Valkyrie and I were discussing yesterday how -- soups excluded -- most of the stuff at Panera has at least 900 calories. Just because it's not as greasy as traditional fast food does NOT mean it's not going to wreck your diet.

Mountain Dew with vodka sound a whole lot like Red Bull with vodka - a bit less caffeine, but same general idea. I had a summer where that was my drink of choice, but I've cooled on that. I don't think I've had one for a while. Diet Mountain Dew is good stuff though. It has a bit more sweetness than regular diet soda plus extra cafffeine, which is always a bonus.

I think I'll stick with Jack and coke though (although I've been going with just Jack on the rocks lately...no soda required).

errrr...I wasn't assuming anything. I know there's a lot of people who prefer diet to regular because of the taste factor.

My comment was a JOKE directed at people who will eat these HUGE calorie filled meals and then get a diet soda because of the calories in a regular soda...not the taste. JOKE.
