At Elon, we have a "fake break" the last week of January. We have a winter term in between fall and spring terms, which is when a lot of students study abroad or take a fun class. After winter term, students have a week off until spring semester starts, except for those who are participating in sorority recruitment. So recruitment at Elon is 5 full days, which is great because it doesn't conflict with classes.

Seriously, I have no idea!!
Its always been that way...(greek life started on our campus in 1907) parties are spread out so you could have 4 parties a week for 5 weeks if you wanted. Ultimately recruitment is partying, and who throws the best ones. Let me tell you, our campus' greek system is "unique" to say the least. I kinda wish we had rules and limitations on how recruitment went. I wish our recruitment period was dry and non-alcoholic. I wish we had Rho Chis too. I like how its a mutual selection at many schools, and each night is focused on something like a philanthropy, or sisterhood. (Lets just say I am a tad bit envious of you all)
*Note, our events are non-alcoholic in compliance with our HQ

Thats why I said ours is non-alcoholic per national headquarters. I didn't want to assume that every (national) org had non-alcoholic recruitment events. All the other sororities on our campus are local, therefore, they can have alcoholic events since they have no national HQ.
Make more sense?

Richard Stockton College of NJ
Organizations-Alpha Gamma Delta, Delta Delta Delta, Delta Zeta, Sigma Sigma Sigma, Zeta Tau Alpha
Jan 31- Feb 4
If they follow last year's standard (created by yours truly) then
Jan 31- open round, meet all 5 sororities
Feb 1- visit 3 sororities
Feb 2- visit 2 sororities
Feb 3- Pref night
Feb 4- BID DAY!!!
ETA: Apparently, Stockton adopted the min structured recruitment. They aren't doing bidmatching and they decided to COB to quota, instead of total, and other new rules. And I'm still getting asked all the questions!! I should get paid for being an advisor...
They are getting to a late start and i have no idea why. the school's rule is we need a week of "silence" (not panhel def, but rather no intake) and then we can start recruitment. so that means it should be the week of jan 24. oh well
