Well these stars are all wealthy, successful and sought after, so i imagine they are doing something right. Maybe emulation isn't so bad?

I really hope you're not striving to be like them, (emphasis added)especially someone like Mary Kate Olsen. I am sure a lot of these women struggle with weight issues and eating disorders and I would bet most also have strict diets and hardcore personal trainers.

I think the camera adds 5-10 lbs on people. So she looks heavier than the stated weight...

It might depend on how wide her hips are...if they're wider then she's going to definitely lean toward the 4, but if they're not, then she's going to lean toward the 2.
Also I have heard that the high-end designer clothes run smaller than normal clothes for those of us who aren't super rich or celebrities So our size 2 is more like their size 4.

I'm pretty tall (5'11"), so I've always been bummed at how short a lot of leading men are. Of course this explains why most leading women need to be so petite.

But I don't look nearly as big as her in pictures. And she's definitely got a much bigger butt than I do (which I am partly jealous of).

I'm not super-rich, but I buy high-end. Some designers run smaller, some run larger though - it's called vanity sizing.

I wasn't really joking with the original post. Maybe a little, but really, I want to get back down to when I was 100.

Um, hello?!! What do women do best? LIE ABOUT THEIR WEIGHT!!!!!!!! I really don't believe these celebrities when they say they only weigh 110 pounds and you can clearly see that they don't. For example, Jessica Simpson has HUGE boobs, which will add weight to her frame. She has hips and curves along with those boobs....which would put her over her so-called weight. These women know that they look good and that the media wants to hear they weigh less then they really do. I'd lie too if I constantly had cameras in my face. Does the reading on the scale really matter? No, it's all how you look.

I can't wait for this revival Twiggy phase to go away so young women stop torturing themselves by the media.

You can definitely tell the difference between a wide lense and long lense shot. Sometimes they almost look like different people.

So you're basically saying that anyone who is that thin is basically sick and unattractive? Hmmmm, I consider myself pretty "normal"...I'm 5'2 and about 95 lb. I guess all teeny tiny people are "sick" then.

No, I don't think she was saying that at all. However, in the Twiggy hayday, people glorified her thinness. However, not everyone is made to be that thin.

I've seen you, and yes, you're normal for your height. However, for someone who is about 5'8''- 5'10, the weight ratio is anywhere from 140-160. And muscle mass and bone structure is included in that.

But look at Lara Flynn Boyle. She weighs the same as you and is much taller than you are. That's not healthy.

I think what she's trying to say is instead of people glorifying unrealists weight ranges (not everyone can be or should be 95 pounds), what people should be glorifying are people who are healthy looking, not matter what they weigh.

Don't let those girls get to you. Some are so self-conscious that they have to make themselves come out perfect looking and everyone else is "sickly".

My roommate was 5'2" and 95 lbs. She was petite and thin and healthy. She could eat whatever she wanted. When my cousin was anorexic, she was about 5'5" and 87 lbs. She was terribly ill.

Anorexia is a very serious disease that can lead to death. It isn't just about weight. There are serious underlying emotional/psychological issues that need to be dealt with as a part of treatment. My cousin had years of therapy and is well now, but it was a struggle for her.
