1985 Buick Regal-paid $1000 for it with my hard earned babysitting money when I was 15. Unfortunately, it was a P.O.S., and I only drove it for two weeks after I got my license. It was so bad, I opted to drive my mom's mini-van until I could save up the money to buy a decent car.
1990 Pontiac Grand Prix SE-LOVED this car. Power everything, sunroof. Too bad the alternator had a pesky little habit of going out every 5-6 months. Finally sold it the summer before my junior year of college.
1998 Geo Metro-I have to admit, I was fond of my "Bertie". It was a 5 speed, and I didn't know how to drive stick until then. I bought it the day before I left to go back to school in the fall, and did a crash course in manual transmissions. It got awesome gas mileage, and the hatchback was handy for hauling stuff.
Now we have a 2001 Accord (my car) which I love, and a 1999 Taurus (hubby's car) which is quite the lemon. We're looking at trading it in for either a hybrid Civic or a Subaru Outback.

My first car ever was a Ford Escort station wagon named Bob. After that, I had a Ford Tempo named Mario -- both purchased by my parents who have a thing for American cars that I don't understand. After Mario died, I had my parents' old car, a Pontiac Bonneville named Winona. After that, my ex and I had a '93 Honda Civic EX that he still has. That was a nice little car.
Now I have the first car I've ever purchased for myself, a 2002 Subaru Outback Sport. I love her, but haven't named her yet. She did such a good job driving up and down mountain roads in the snow this winter.

I always get the hand-me-down cars that suck that keep dying on me My parents don't understand how I've gone through 3 cars, but with the money they've spent, they could have gotten something nice.
*1988 Pontiac Grand Prix-- I got "Pepper" when I was 15. She was maroon and had all the features for 1988. But her windows fell out when I rolled them back up, so I couldn't go to a drive-through. Her AC stopped working the summer between my freshman and sophomore years of college, and she died a week before I went back to school. At the end of my street. At midnight.
*1992 Mercury Sable Wagon-- This car was my mom's, but she gave it to me because the AC broke and she couldn't deal without AC. Apparently I could It had leather seats, and it was hell in the summer. It drove well, though. It died this summer right after someone hit Mom while she was driving Dad's car and totalled that one. Mom and Dad both got new cars.
*1995 Dodge Intrepid-- "Irma" was Mom's car til her wreck. Then Mom decided she needed an SUV, so again I got the hand-me-down. She has over 111,000 miles and no special features. She's on her last legs and about to die. She's a boat and impossible to park. I'm now looking for a job so I can buy a CR-V, XTerra, or my dream car, a Nissan Pathfinder

I had a 1980 Chevy Malibu when I was at FSU. It was built during Detroit's dark years, and performed like it.

My first car ever was a 1986 Mercury Sable aka the Black Beast. It was a hand-me-down from my uncle.
After that died, I inherited my dad's 1993 Jimmy. That wasn't a bad car until the wheel fell off and I wrecked into an embankment.
Then I got my baby--my silver 2003 VW New Beetle. The license plate? Alikat2

New Red Honda Civic '95--My first car when I was 16. EX model with power windows, power locks, automatic transmission, and power sunroof. An Alpine cd player was installed soon after purchase as well as JBL speckers and an amp in the trunk(to my dad's dismay). It was a good car and sweet for my taste at the time. Dad did well.
Current car--- New Honda CRV--my graduation present in December 2003. My favorite of the two, again my dad did well . I named it Athena after the greek goddess of Wisdom. it is garnet in color, power windows, power locks, power sunroof, real time 4 wheel drive, storage compartment under the passenger side seat, valet key with it's own compartment, rear window wiper, running boards, 6 disc cd changer in dash, roof rack, back windows are tinted, and it also came with a nifty table and room for a cooler underneath the table........ummmmm cloth/vinyl interior that is tan in color, came with floor mats........automatic transmission........Humane Society License plate(if any of you have seen the ridiculous looking regular kentucky license plate then you know the main reason as to why I paid extra for that plate). Off the bat that's all that comes to my mind about my car that I love so so much other than I keep two folding chairs in the back plus a blanket(that I use to cover the back seat for my dog). I am truly the queen the road in this vehicle and my dog is the princess.

I bought a new Eclipse in 98 as my first car..with my "college fund" and had that until I bought my brother's car this past summer before he moved to Japan..so now it's a 98 Honda Accord V6 that I love ten times better than my little eclipse..I prefer the mommy-sedan over the sports car, go figure!

1975 Buick Apollo that my brother and I shared. The choke was bad and stuck all the time so if it was damp outside, I had to stick a screw driver in the choke to start it. Everybody laughed. It finally died and while in college my dad got me a ...
1976 Cutlass Supreme. Not a bad car, at least I had one! Most didn't wen I was a sophomore (1984/85). The floor on the passenger side rusted out while I had people sitting there and the heat from the catalytic converter started the carpet on fire while we were on a mini-road trip. That was pretty funny. Eventually the transmission went and dad got me a ...
1977 Buick Regal. By far the best car I've ever had. V8/350, while quite a gas hog (probably 9 mpg), gas was cheap then (less than $1). Powerful, solid, ugly color (lime green), but ran great. For some reason, when I graduated from college, I wanted a new car and got a brand new...
1988 Cavalier. Also a good car. Great gas mileage, but going from a V8 to one of the earlier 4L engines was a trip. Had to turn off the A/C if I had to pass someone! I drove it hard, til 1994 when I had my first child and couldn't hardly get a car seat in the back seat, so I got a used...
1991 Transport. It was fairly solid mechanically, had definitely been in a front end collision at some point. It was nice when I had to haul all the baby stuff everywhere. The A/C went in '99 and I can't live without A/C. The ex (who I was still married to at the time) thought we shouldn't put any money into it. So I bought a ...
New 1999 Cavalier. The car I drive today. It's had some issues lately, we'll see how long it lasts. It has 81,000 miles on it now and I hope it lasts another 3 or 4 years, but it's getting iffy. We'll see.
Every car I've had drove to at least 130,000 and I want this one to as well.

1991 Buick Regal - A hand-me-down from my father. He bought himself a Beamer and my mother a Lexus; I got stuck with the Regal. It definitely was not a sexy car but it got me from Point A to Point B. Plus, I always got stuck driving when my friends and me would hang out since the car fit 6 people and most of my friends had tiny sports cars. The car was fondly named "The Tank".
1999 Ford Escort ZX2 - My current car. I got this as a high school graduation present from the parents (I paid half and they paid the other half). It's been pretty good to me so far although the air conditioning and tape deck have gone out twice.
My sister got stuck with "The Tank" after I got the ZX2. During my Sophomore year in college, my sister called me up one day to tell me she had the best news ever. "The Tank" died. The transmission went out and it would cost over $4,000 to fix it. The car was only worth $2,000. She was cheering in the driveway when AAA came to tow it away. She says it was one of the best days of her life. My parents got her a used 1999 Honda Civic.

1983 Honda Prelude--This was my dad's car that he gave me my Sr. year in College in 1988. I loved that car! I had to give it back when I graduated though! My parents were big on that personal responsibility stuff
1988 Honda Civic--I bought this car on my one and was so proud of it. It drove me to Minnesota for my first job and drove me back to Georgia when I came to my senses. I had this car for over 10 years. Right before I got married the engine went out (I think it had about 150,000 miles at the time. We didn't want the expense of a car note, so we bought a used engine for about $1500, and drove it for 2 more year and about 40,000 more miles.
1996 Toyota Camry--Current car. We bought this car in February 1998, and although the dealer lied and said that it had not been a rental car, I haven't had any major problems with it. I currently have about 170,000 miles on it. It is in need of some major work right now, and I am seriously debating trading it in. Hubby and I vowed to buy next car with cash, and we are still a ways from doing that, though.

1988 Chevy Beretta 5-speed. This car had been through my middle sister, then my older sister, then me. It was my car from ages 14-15.5 (I got my school permit when I started high school). I ran it out of oil the summer after my freshman year it was then followed by . . .
1982 Buick Century This used to be my grandma's car but I got it after she couldn't drive anymore. It was cool in its own weird granny way. We once piled 9 people in it (including one in the trunk) and went gravel jamming. No, there is nothing better than that to do in my hometown. That was replaced by . . .
1996 Pontiac Grand Am Got it my junior year of high school and it lasted me until the begining of my senior year of college. I loved this car. We had some good times together. And now I drive . . .
2001 Pontiac Grand Prix which I've had for almost 4 years. She's done me pretty good save a few things here and there. I'll probably have her for another year or so before we decide to get something bigger for the future kidlets.

I've always had old cars for the most part. I had a brand new Mitsubishi Mirage in undergrad for a few weeks but totaled it. I recently inherited my grandfather's mini-van after he passed away this fall. I am embarassed to admit it to people, but honestly, living in NYC, who wants a brand new car? And it's big so people move out of my way, I can transport all my "stuff" easily and if any lovely Deephers are up for the beach or a road trip I can fit them all in there. I am thinking of getting a new car in the next year or so but then I think of the insurance and car payments and it doesn't seem worth it. So for now I will continue to be a "soccer mom".

I had a 1992 Mazda Protege DX handed down from my dad when I got my permit. I got it with well over 100,000 miles on it and learned to drive (and drive stick!) on it. We replaced the clutch at around 150,000 and I drove it for two years. She was most often referred to as Mufsy or little red car.
When I graduated high school, I bought myself a 1999 Mazda Protege LX, still red, still a 5-speed. I'm going to have this car forever! I call him McMada but most of my friends call him little red car number 2.
