Which teams do you think will make it to the post season?
My picks: Yankee's, Boston, Oakland, and Angels
I would like the A's to win but I think the either Boston or Angels will make to the end.
I'm not a NL fan so I'm not going to even make a pick.

Boston, yankees, whitesox, and angels
I know the trendy pick is Boston or NY but I'm going with Anaheim to win the AL. They are a scary team with everyone healthy.
I think the cubs will take the NL but its anyones guess in that league.

My my my,
what a turn the season has taken to this point in September.
While i will probably jinx them with this post, a certain team that will remain nameless has charged out of nowhere into contention for the Wild Card. Said team, who resides in the NL Central have feasted of late on the have-nots but still must play the mighty Cardinals 6 times and the Giants 3 times.
On our current tear, we did take 3 of 4 to start our streak from the team that most on here have championed as the team to beat.
It's gonna be a great September!!
Kitso
KS 361 times i thank god for Carlos Beltran every day

I hope you have jinxed the "nameless" team Just kidding
It's really exciting to see that the NL Wild Card is still a five team race (at least), with those five teams only separated by 2 games. It's hard to say who'll wind up on top, but I know who I'm hoping for!

I'm interested to see how close Ichiro comes to Sisler's hits record. He's already up to 229, plus his average is hovering around .380. With the way he was hitting around the All-Star break, who would have thought?
Yankees swept the doubleheader yesterday, back up to 3.5 games. It's not comfortable, but it's something. Mussina finally had a good pitching performance...hopefully it starts a trend.

Well, the Phillies are slumping, the Rangers are slumping, so I guess it's a good thing football seasons is here.

Looks like the jinx didn't take.
Astros win the Wild Card after one of the most monumental comebacks in baseball history. Win 12 in a row, 15 of 16, end the season with 2 straight sweeps, of the Cards and the Rocks.
And all of it at the expense of a team who i LOVE to see find ways to choke their season away. Year of the Cubs my ass.
Bring on the Braves!!!
GOD, we need to keep Beltran and convince Roger to come back next year.
Pettite, Clemens, Oswalt, Miller, Backe. I'll take that rotation with Lidge as the closer.

I am going to Game 1 of the NLDS (Braves vs Houston ) and game 5 if they have it. If the Braves make it further I am going to game 2 or 4 of the NLCS depending on who has homefield advantage. More than likely game 4 unless by some freak chance St Louis gets knocked out.
I rather go see the Sox play but they are too far away. Doubt I would get lucky enough to see the Braves vs the Sox in the series.
Go Sox beat the Angels. Go Twins give the Yankees hell.

Congratulations to the Southern California teams (Dodgers and Angels) for making the playoffs. I wish them the best of luck, and I am sure that they will represent California well.
And if you think that I REALLY mean this...I have some nice beachfront property to sell to you in Florida...
Yeah...I'm hating right about now... just getting ready to hear from the So Cal folks...

You wanna know what's really great? i mean, SERIOUSLY great?
Put your ear to the east and tell me what you hear coming out of the Windy City. You hear that horrendous choking noise, followed by sobbing?
Best sound i've heard in a while.
KS 361 times the sobbing we'll be hearing from Austin this next weekend will almost be better

Time shall tell - great run by the 'stros, it'll be interesting to see if that lineup continues to hit in the playoffs . . . plus Beltran is a stud, so it's good to see him in the postseason.
It's also good to see the Yanks have to go to the BaggyDome again, and the A's limp all the way out of the playoffs - good for them.
Yankees/Red Sox again? I don't know if I can take it, but it'll be fun. Sorta.
Oh, and the Cards might have more trouble with the Dodgers than you'd expect . . . just saying, is all - it all depends on Pujols and Rolen not shelling the lefties, if they can get Weaver in there twice . . . well, short-series baseball, anything can happen.

I don't like the fact that my team has to go and face and face Santana and company in the Dome. I'd love to see a Yankees/Sox rematch, but who knows with the year both teams are having.
Roger is unreal...to do what he's doing at his age is impressive (not as impressive as Julio Franco, but still impressive). The fact that he could end up with another Cy Young is ridiculous.
The Cards/Dodgers series will be better than most people think.
ETA: The A's missing the playoffs will give Joe Morgan more fuel to go on one of his bitter diatribes against Billy Beane. If any of you get the chance, read "Chasing Steinbrenner," about how the Sox and Blue Jays are employing a modified version of the Moneyball philosophy.

Morgan hasn't said anything interesting in like 3 years. His anti-Beane BS is unreal - I get that you're a HOFer, Joe, but seriously, until you can get some sort of proof that Beane's philosophies, which are shared by DOZENS of front-office types (successful ones, too) in baseball, somehow don't apply to the postseason, then just lay off. We get it, already.
As for Clemens - he's a robot, it's absurd and amazing all rolled into one. The best part is, as hard as he works, I'd still infer that it's 75% his mentality . . . in a lot of ways, he's The Perfect Pitcher (c).
The Yanks have struggled mightily in the House That Kirby Built Before Cataracts and Rape Charges Etc Etc (c), but it's always the same story: Santana strikes out 12 in 7 innings, gives up one run, the NYY rally for 3 more off JC Romero and win 4-2. It's tough to watch, but that's why they're the Yankees - even places they struggle, they still walk out with wins. Mad respect.
The unilateral, obligatory Predictions:
-Sox over Angels in 4 (and I'm even assuming the loss is the game Petey pitches . . . is that bad?)
-Yankees over Twins in 4 (lose to Santana, rally to win the next three, even when they stupidly bring the 25-yr-old lefty heir to the Martinez throne back after 3 days' rest.. ugh)
-Bravos over Houston in 5, assuming Roger throws games 1 and 4
-Cards over Dodgers, by virtue of Jim Tracy pissing it away with the vaunted "Three-Man Rotation Including Jose Lima" - but I flipped on this one a lot, the Ravine is a hell of a home-field advantage, and the Dodgers match up well.
Rock on gentlemen, it's the most wonderful time of the year.

A big, fat CO-SIGN!
But in all honesty, the Giants are my team, but they didn't deserve to go this year with their horrible bullpen. Hopefully, they will get some good arms in the off season and do some damage next year. Go Cards!
