Okay so today was a meeting that I had to miss. I def. didnt want to miss it, but with the weather that we had on tuesday here in the chicago area, I had to go and work. Okay to better explain. I work for a paramedic/firefighting group in a county one over from where I live. Lots of tornadoes came through while I was out chasing one F4 in particular, well...since I was already out I have been out doing that all day Wednesday and The rest of Tuesday night. I am actually off to go and finish helping iwth cleaning up and everything else. But yeah anyway I had to miss a meeting and I guess they were okay with it and would like me to come to next months meeting. Hmmm, I wonder what....Hopeing all are safe where ever you may be.

tornadoes are figured into 5 categories...F1 is considered a small not that damaging kind of tornadoe. where as F5 is what you mostly see in Oklahoma and Texas. F5's can also be classified (if near the water) as the beginning of a tropical depression/storm. So an F4 is just a little lighter than that, but still quite dangerous. We lost 8 people as of last count and we had 9 surviors, with 22 people missing. Not a great number count, but still we belive it could of been worse. I had fun till it got real hairy with the touch and go of where peoples saftey's were in our (people rescuing and chasing) hands.

mshoole,

This is just a slight hijack but I want to give you a round of applause for what you do with the paramedic/firefighting group you work with. You see, I just got back from a short, sad visit to Wheaton IL near where you are (my father in law is very very sick...dying of pancreatic cancer) and while we were having dinner Tuesday night, the tornado siren/alert in my in-laws' home went off. We saw that the tornado was on the ground and possibly heading for us...we talked about how to get my father in law to the basement (he can't walk except with a walker and only for a few steps) "just in case." But thankfully the tornado did not hit us...the next morning we were so sad and shocked to see what had happened in Utica...we could have been in that same situation, needing help from you and your colleagues. I feel so bad for what happened in Utica and the families of those who died.

That being said, I applaud what you do to help those in need! Very admirable work.

And I wish you good luck in your search for an AI home. I hope the groups you are in contact with come thru for you.

By the way, our Gamma Phi Beta convention is in your area (Chicago - Lincolnshire) in June.

GPhiBLtColonel~
Thank you. I appreciate it very much. I hoep to find a home soon as well. I am very sorry to hear about your father in law, that must be very upsetting in your family righ tnow. I am glad to hear that you did not need to come up wtih a backup emergency plan. Utica was horrible scene, and I am acutally on my way in a few to go back down and help some more. I am so gald to hear that your convention is near me. I hope you have a great time. And, please hijack this thread anytime you want.

In my thoughts and prayers

UPDATED!!!!!!!

I had a meeting that I had to miss last week. they were real understanding. My other group I am looking at is meeting this thursday but I have a prior engagement that wont let me ditch it for so I am meeting with a couple of the woman in next wednesday for dinner in the city. The other group (which is a non-pnam) is underway, it is a cross between online and land. Which means if you want to join it as an online group you can but if you want to join it as a land chapter you can. I have a total of 14 members in it, 6 are through online and 6 are through the land part of the chapter and 2 of us are going in between both. Its working out real well right now.

Anyway thats my update for you all now.

Check you later this week

MS

By the way any guesses on where I am going?

Update Time...

Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there.

Today I go to meet about 10 wonderful ladies, in dowtown Chicago. We did a Charity Event. I had so much fun. It seemed that they were all excited to meet me as I was to meet them.

I actually stayed in Downtown Chicago last night and ran to the meeting point early this morning. Then I walked roughly 3 miles today in the race. I had a great time. We had lots of pictures and lots of moms came to support us. I actually met three woman who live literally right down the street.

Lots of pictures were taken of the group and the walk. I also found out that they are meeting later this month as well as next month. They talked about emailing me when they are going to be getting together next. I had the best time in the world. I'll let you know what happens.

Should I send a thank you note for letting me join yesterday, in the Charity Event? What does everyone think?

Go for it. It couldn't hurt anything. It would be a very nice gesture at least.

Hope everything is going well!

My mommy always said: When in doubt, send a thank you note. That got me several jobs, second interviews, etc. Granted, I'm from the south and if I didn't send thank you notes for EVERYTHING I was grounded for a week...
