I just read OTW's post and that is soooooooooo bad!!!

You should never pierce/tattoo anything while intoxicated. That's a number 1 no-no. Any reputable piercer will NOT do that.

I wouldn't think it would be an issue as long as they aren't visible, and they shouldn't be. Every once in a while, I will stretch and my navle ring becomes visible.

To those who know or have their nips pierced: do they ever show through your shirt? What about them it is a little cold?

Overboard is going crazy with the piercings like multiple nip rings or multiple genital rings, I think that is a bit excessive.

My friend had her nip pierced and it did sometimes show through her shirt and when it was cold. She doesn't have it anymore though.

All of my parents LOVE the relationship that I have with their daughters. They would much rather have me (with my tongue piercing and afro) because they know that I care about the girls and am serious about preparing them for their future instead of a prim and proper "professional" who cares more about her resume and business suit than the progress of the child (and they do exist; not all educators care about kids is what I'm learning at my school).

Let me just end here, because I have gone off on a tangent. I just hate to be judged by a piercing, especially saying I'm setting a bad example. I just can't get with that.

I do agree that there are tons of well dressed teachers/administrators that don't care for their students.
And it was no disrespect, Ideal. Just my personal opinion.

I've been around a lot of different people in my life. And the one thing I've learned is to never judge someone based solely on their appearance. I would rather have a teacher who took an interest in what I am doing as a student with a piercing, than a teacher who was prim and proper and could give two ishts about what I am learning. I'd be so interested in how the teacher looked, I'd be paying attention to what he or she is teaching.

I think we put WAY too much emphasis on appearance. What I do with my body should not be anyone's concern so long as it doesnt' hurt anyone. If I want to pierce my tongue, so be it.

My parents are kind of conservative, and freaked a little when I got my tattoos, which are covered up, but respected my decision. My daughter wants one now, and I told her she could get one when she is 18.

i'm really interested in this thread. i've been debating getting my genitals pierced, but haven't. when i got my tongue done 5 years ago, it didn't hurt to have done, but hurt like a b**** afterwards. i'm afraid that's what will happen if i get my kitty pierced. i really want it done though.

as for the nipples, i want those done too, but i have such large breasts that i don't want to draw even more attention to them.

Actually, getting 'down there' pierced was just the opposite in my experience. It hurt like heck the second I was pinched, but afterward, I honestly didn't feel it. The 'down there' piercing was the easiest one I've had. The navel was the worst because it took 6 months - 1 year to heal, whereas the 'down there' piercing took 6 weeks.

that's what i've been hearing. thanks for the advice. i've pretty much decided to get the kitty done, but not the nipples for now. one thing at a time. now i'm just at a point that i need to find a quality ceritified piercer who can do it.

After debating getting this done for over a year - - - i got the twins pierced yesterday

it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be, but now i can't turn my headlights off!!! I need to layer my shirts cause i ain't trying to poke anyone's eye out.

I thought about getting my "special place"

pierced, but my biggest fear is that the piercer will screw up and I'll love all feeling down there.

While I know there is no guarantee for piercings, what kind of questions should I be asking a piercer and what kinds of things sgould I be looking for if I am going to do this. I can I ensure that it's done correctly?
