Oh I agree with this one!

Some of the clothes in my closet. It looked good on me in the store...but when you get it home it looks like crap...I really should start returning stuff

Where to start? I have 6 virginal lawn chairs, tags still on them, waiting to see sunlight. A six pack of Cleveland Browns/Pittsburgh Steelers Iron City Beer. I don't drink beer - well, not Iron City. Two ready-to-stain or paint chests - I love them, I will not part with them - but I'm starting to dispair that I'll never actually paint or stain them! Books, books, and more books - somehow, I have never clearly taken the concept of a library to heart, and feel that I must buy every book I read. Especially if it's rare, and I can only get it through an online rare book service & pay over $50. Yellow stationery that I will NEVER use, lest someone would erroneously think I like yellow. Pants too big in the hips, sweaters too tight across the bust, and underwear that would make a hooker blush - why, oh, why do I do this?!?!?!?!?!

*sigh*

I bought two pairs of Calvin Klein jeans in a size too big. I didn't realize Atkins would work. So these jeans sit in my drawers with the tags on in case I gain the weight back. Also I was redecorating my bedroom and bought full size sheets and a comforter not realizing that I would buy a Queen sized bed. I might ebay them because the sheets are cute.

Ladies ladies ladies! Do NOT waste your money on makeup that doesn't work out once you get it home. Most of the major cosmetics lines, as well as quite a few drug stores, have very flexible return options. When I worked at the Clinique counter at Macys, for instance, we could accept back any Clinique product, even if it wasn't purchased at Macy's. And even if it didn't have the packaging, but I strongly recommend hanging on to the original packaging, any sort of store sticker/label designating where it was purchased (I know Macy's and Nordstrom's put CRL stickers on to prove it's from their store), and the receipt. This being said, please don't show up and try to return something that is obviously well used and you just want to exchange it for a full one. It is tacky and bad karma. Not that I think anyone here would do that of course, but it's a situation I have encountered! But seriously, makeup companies know that once you get it home it often isn't the same for you, so don't feel like you're stuck with that eyeliner forever! Also a good idea to ask when you buy it.

Shoes that hurt my feet!!! That's why I have a ba-zillion pairs of shoes around the house but I only wear 3 or 4 pairs of them. Yeah, that's right ... they are the ones that don't hurt!

Thanks for your post! Maybe I'll try to exchange the foundation I bought for the eyeliner I'm always stocking up on from Clinique... I just wasn't sure if I should do it with Macy's because it has a barcode on the box, but when I was buying makeup there I told the woman and she was like you should try to bring it back, eh, maybe I'll just keep it for the summer, hopefully it should match my skin tone when I'm tan.

Thanks! I should look into that!

I had a cheap little fountain that lasted a few months before it leaked on the bottom and ruined my night table. I had to throw it out. I should have bought a better one instead.

I also have a little lamp that I only used it on the day that I bought it and haven't used it since. Before leaving for Florida, I unplugged it and never replugged it.
