what about freeze tag, "it", view finders, jacks, dodge ball, four square, hop skotch, Josie and the ***** cats, Archie, Charlie's Angels, dixie cups (someone's mother sold them during the summer), pants with the elastic at the ankles, velcro tennis shoes,British Knights, your mother would use vaseline on your legs and face instead of lotion... bikes with the plastic strings coming out of the handle bars...S And H green stamps. You would save the stamps to complete books to win prizes

Ok, I too received a "Child of the 80's" email today, so I just wanted to add a few from that list. I hope this isn't repetitive.
You can sing the McDonalds Big Mack Filet-o-fish, Quarter, Pounder, French fry song while jump roping.
You watched Beat Street and Electric Boogaloo 20 times. (Wasn't Turbo fine?)
You could breakdance, or wish you could. (Remember pop lockin'?)
You used dishwashing detergent for soap in the tub. (I don't know if that had to do with the times or our financial situations!)
You remember when BET came on the air and MTV could go to hell because the only black artist they played was Michael Jackson.
You hold a special place in your heart for "227".
DeBarge was the Sh*t ... "Love Me In A Special Way", "I Like It", "All This Love"
You always wondered why Tootie always wore those damn skates.
You actually thought "Dirty Dancing" was a REALLY good movie.
You watched Purple Rain over and over again.
You remember the episode of Good Times when Flo broke down after James' funeral: Damn, Damn, Damn!!!!!
You were led to believe that in the year 2000 we'd all be living on the moon.
You remember and/or owned any of the Care Bear Glass collection from Pizza Hut or any other stupid collection they came out with.
Michael Jackson's Thriller video scared you.
You carried your lunch to school in a Gremlins, Goonies or ET lunchbox.
You know what leg warmers are and probably had a pair.
You wore biker shorts underneath a short skirt and felt stylish, or knew someone who did.
You ever had a Swatch Watch with the Swatch Guard. You wore more than one with some fat shoe laces to match the colors.
You remember the song "Pass the dutchie on the left hand side" by Musical Youth.
Ok, sorry ya'll. I am just really loving this topic.

I know I said I was done, but Soror AKA2D'91 just made me remember something else. Do you remember when the first remote controls were actually attached to the TV or VCR by a cord? Now what was the point of that?

Yeah Soror SKeeBunny, what was the point to having the remote connected to the TV? Remember foil on the antennas (pre-cable) for better reception? Remember the santa during the Norelco commercial, remember the "Where's the Beef" commercials? and Knowwhatimean, Vern commercials? I won't say that's it... you will never know what I will think of next... I LOVE THIS TOPIC!!!!!
Oh, I just thought of... remember if you were in someone's car and they had leather seats and it was summertime and you were wearing shorts, how your skin would stick to the seat! OUCH! That always happened to me as a child.

For all of you who grew up in NY or the Tri-State area:
Remember "Crazy Eddie's" electronics stores? He was always going "INSANE" because the prices were so low. "Crazy Eddie's......His prices are insane."
Remember when Whoppers used to sold in those small little wrappers with five in the pack? Remember wax candy with the liquid inside? And spots or dots that you had to bite off the paper and you still sometimes had to spit out paper that was stuck to the back of the candy? What about penny candy? With 50 cents, I used to get 25 butterscotches and 25 big bol gums. That would last me like two days, if that. Now it's like 5 cents a peice. (What a rip-off) Was anyone else scared of the CAVITY CREEPS?
Man.....THOSE WERE THE DAYS!

This thread has somewhat of ironic timing because BET will be airing the top 100 "old school" videos all next week and next Saturday. From Cameo (what was with the red cup?) to Sheila E. to Doug E. Fresh. I know that these videos will bring back a flood of childhood memories.
