Ditto. After reading the book I didn't like the movie either.....AT ALL. It totally sucked. I am hoping they do a better job with this book to movie adaptation.

That's exactly how I felt about Bridget Jones' Diary.

I think I may actually like this movie. The whole Meryl Streep thing is going to take some getting used to though.

I saw that Tracie Thoms is playing Lilly. I loved her in Rent, so I'm excited to see her in this. I really hope they stay true to the book!

Thumbs up

I read the book this weekend. I needed a weekend of mindlessness and this did it.
I really like the book. I am actually going to send to my sister to read.

I read the book while travelling to Convention and my daughter just finished the book an hour before SHE went to see the movie with friends (after several "Are you sure it's ok if I go with my friends because I thought we would see this together???")

Her 12 year old opinion was that the movie ends very differently(she didn't tell me the new ending), some character names were changed (Alex was Nate? What's up with that?), there were some plot differences and Miranda was much nicer in the movie, but both the book and the movie were equally good.

She's very correct about the plot differences (i.e. Lily's character) and the ending. It was anticlimactic at best. The ending has you feeling sad for Miranda. Still very enjoyable movie.

Meryl Streep made a wonderful Miranda. I can't imagine anyone else having done the role its justice.

I guess I need to go out and buy the book (don't have me check things out from the library, I have books in my apartment that I checked out in March). I thought the movie was good, but if the book was really different with more plot points, than I wanna read it.

Xylochick216 & SATX*APhi: Could one of you please pm me and tell me the difference between the movie and book version of In Her Shoes. I own the movie and I love the movie, but I haven't read the book and I'm dying to know the differences that y'all are talking about.

I just saw this with my mom. We both read the book and liked the movie much better. I didn't think the changes they made were too bad and the cast was perfect! Loved the wardrobe!

What did they do with Lily's character? I thought she was pretty important as the final bridge between the real Andy and the Runway Andy.

I don't like how they have her going to Northwestern in the movie.
