OHMYGOD! I SO was hoping that Savage would say something too! I though for sure they'd attempt to give them some advice on who to vote out! That would have been so freaking awesome!

YES! OSTEN and JON should be on the next boat out!

OK - I missed most of the show tonight! I came in when Morgan was voting wimpy Osten off. I sure hope this guy has a job already cause I'd never hire him to work in my company!
What happened during the first 45 minutes of the show?

basically what happend during the early minutes was that rupert got pissed of how he was being played.

then the twist came. the six people that were booted off from each team came back as a third team, they called themselves the outcast. so, the challege was a 3 team game. the outcast group won. morgan and drake teams had to each vote someone off on todays episode. drake voted off shawn. morgan didnt even vote because osten decided to pull himself off. next week, the outcast group will vote back into the game 2 people who were previously voted of to take shawn and osten's place. pretty interesting so far.

It just seems to go against the whole "Outwit, Outlast, Outplay" theme of the show. The members of the ghost tribe didn't outlast the others but now they could end up winning the million? Also, they sure looked rested, well fed and clean. How can that compete with tribes who are well into the severe hunger phase, covered from head to toe in bug bites (doesn't that look nasty???), suffering from sleep deprivation, etc.

I'd be ticked if I was a contestant!

Why, oh why, why, WHY did Drake keep Jon around???? They're shooting themselves in the foot....there's still at least one more tribe immunity challenge (so it seems) until the "merge", so you get rid of one of your stronger tribemates?!?!?! Are you NUTS?

Osten needed to go. I don't feel sorry for him at all...I mean, this is Survivor....you filled out the application, you made it through the screening process, you were chosen as one of the 16 castaways. Now that you're in the game and things aren't going so well, you're going to say, oh well, I guess the million dollars isn't worth it? What the h*** did you think you were getting yourself into, a Royal Carribean Cruise???? Give me a break. I'm glad Jeff threw Osten's torch onto the ground after Osten had left and told him to "go home" after extinguishing his torch...not even a "you asked for it, you got it".

It'll be interesting to see how the Outcasts' Tribal Council goes next week...I hope Burton and Michelle come back, but it'll be interesting, because I'm sure it's vote for the player you think is the most worthy to go back into the game...besides yourself.

I'm a little confused about the Outlast, Outwit, and Outplay part, too....unless the producers figured that the Outcasts had outwitted the other players maybe by figuring there would be a twist such as this, or they had outplayed the others in a "negative" way that lead to their being voted out of the tribe? I don't know.

I can't believe I'm gonna have to watch another show with 'Jonnyd-pain-in-the-ass' on it! I am in shock that he is still there! However, the only thing that I can think of is that they think that Burton may return to the game. If he goes back to the other tribe and there is a merge, than Shawn already has an in on the other team. Jon has NO ONE...the other tribe hates him!

Plus, I think it's really cool about the 'second chancers'. Jeff said that it was done in 'true pirate fashion', so it fits the rest of the shows theme. I also believe that as early in the game as it is, some cuts are made just because someone has to go. I don't think the three O's are truly tested until after the merge. That's when it becomes a challenge!

My fear is that everybody wants to keep Jon around because they KNOW they would beat him if they went to the Final 2 with him. In fact, it's almost hard to believe that someone can be that obnoxious naturally. I wonder if his strategy is to be the most hated so that he gets to the final 2!

I was yelling at the TV when they voted off Shawn instead of Jon too.

Now I wonder... are they (the Outcast) going to be able to choose which tribe the newly returned members go to? As in, are they first going to vote Which Person should go back to Drake, and then have another vote of WhichPerson should go back to Morgan?

The only thing I can think of, is... I think I remember from when Burton got voted off, that he figured out that his buddy Shawn had voted against him (If I'm totally wrong about this, let me know!). If Burton got sent back to Drake, and Shawn was still around, that might have caused some (more) tension within the tribe. Maybe they got rid of Shawn to avoid that (because they seem quite certain Burton is coming back) and figured that at least everyone hates Jon, and he'll probably be voted out soon enough without further splintering the tribe?

(I put too much thought into this)

I think it's interesting though that the Outcast stayed on a relatively similar diet once they returned to the boat, though... I heard an interview with Burton the week after his Episode of Doom aired, and they were asking him all sorts of questions about "So, what was the first thing you ate after you were voted off" etc. He was really evasive about it... and know I know why!

This is why I set my VCR to record, because usually I'm at bible study when Survivor is on...

To begin with, the six outcasts came back in, and Jeff talked with them and had each of them say why they should be voted back into the game. When it came time to vote, the outcasts voted for two members that they wanted to go back into the game, besides themselves. When the votes were tallied, Burton and Lil were voted back into the game, and the other four left the area again immediately. Then, to decide which tribe they would go to, one of them would step up and draw a buff out of a tube and that determined where they went. Lil volunteered, and drew the orange buff, so she went back to Morgan, while Burton went back to Drake. They each went back that night to the camp, and Lil was met at the boat by the other Morgan tribe members (who couldn't tell who it was for a minute), and Burton woke up the Drake members and let them see he was back.

The next morning, Rupert pulled Burton aside and explained why he voted Burton off in the first place, and after their discussion, they seemed to be back on good footing with one another. Lil and Savage were talking around the fire, and he kept saying how it was such a shock and not fair that people were let back in.

The two tribes met at the beach for an immunity challenge. Jeff asked about the food situation, and after Sandra got done saying what all the tribe had to eat the night before, he asked Savage about their food (which they were completely out of food, having just finished the last of their rice that morning). Savage made mention about not knowing when a merge would come with the big banquet, and Jeff asked Tijuana about a merge and she said that they have no clue when a merge is coming, they're not expecting it, etc. Well, Jeff tells them that there will be a merge today and tells them to take their old buffs off and gives them their new buffs (black). The immunity challenge was "Pirate Punishment", where the castaways had to swim under a long plank that had a cut out in the middle (if the castaway came up in that cutout, they had to start all over), climb up a ladder, cross the plank without falling in, jump back in, and repeat. They ran two heats of five castaways each, with the first two finishers moving on to the finals. In the first heat, Jon and Rupert were the top two, in the second heat, Burton and Ryan O were the top two. In the finals, they had to do this process five times, but while they were crossing the plank before jumping into the water again, they had to grab one medalion each time and transfer it from one end to the other, and once they had completed their five times and the medallion transfer, they had to jump into the water. It was a close race between Rupert and Burton at the end, and Burton just squeaked out the win over Rupert. Jeff told him that since he already had immunity from coming back into the game, he had the option of bestowing immunity on another player, and he had the rest of the day to think about it. The tribes returned to Drake's beach, where a feast waited for them, and they decided on the tribe name of Balboa.

After eating, the members of Morgan and Drake began strategizing who they'd vote for. Morgan members decided to go after Jon, while Drake thought about voting off Savage. Burton talked to Lil that the Drake members wanted her to vote with them, that they liked her and wanted to include her in their voting strategy. Savage came up to Lil and asked her to vote with Morgan, and she said she didn't know, and wouldn't know for a while. When he asked if she'd let him know before going to tribal council, Lil told Savage that she asked him to do the same the night she was voted out, and he never got back to her.

At tribal council, Burton elected to give immunity to Rupert, which left Lil, Burton and Rupert safe from the vote. After each vote was cast, Jeff read them off: Andrew, Savage, Savage, Andrew, Andrew, Jon, Jon, Jon, Jon.......Andrew.

Now, having said all that, I am SO that the Drakes didn't get rid of Jon! He is annoying and the biggest a-hole in the entire world. When he was casting his vote against Savage, he talked in his taunting voice, and I was about ready to throw something through the TV (but then I couldn't watch it ) and then as Jeff was reading the votes, Jon got the biggest smirk on his face as all the Andrew votes were read, but then when more and more Jon votes were coming out, you could see he was getting really nervous!

Really hoping that next week will finally be the week that Jon is gone from the game....but that means he's sitting on the jury

Great recap polarpi! I think Savage was pretty shocked when he saw his name read! He just sat there shaking his head.
I'm so ready for Jon to go to! What a nerd! I guess Drake still has the tribe mentality, and want to stay one up on Morgan. They were ready to vote Jon off if there had not been a merge. Hoping next week is the last time we see Jon!

I kind of liked Savage... I was sad to see him go.

I have a scary feeling about Jon. Remember in the season where Porn-Star Brian won (I can never remember which is which)? Every week they talked about voting off Clay, because everyone hated him, but each week they felt more pressed to vote off a different person and put Clay on the back-burner. And in the end... he made it to the final two. I'm a little worried that's what will happen with Jon

I caught the last ten minutes...but that was an awesome recap! I can't believe they kept Jon on there! I was so hoping his butt was gone! If he wins, I'll never watch the show again!

Don't worry, I'll remember to record for next week! I can't go through this again! LOL!
