Yes but managers are about making MONEY. He gets a cut of EVERYTHING that they do, and while I am sure that to some extent he seeks opportunities for them, they are at a level where his job is sorting through what comes to them from the many, man sources that want to work with the group. If someone offered him MONEY for Kelly or Michelle I DOUBT he'd say no just for Beyonce. That family is about business.
People want Beyonce. Say what you want about Kelly 'n em but nobody talks about them or really cares what they do. On her own, she would probably be at about a Keke Wyatt level of fame- just famous for being on other people's tracks for 15 minutes. Beyonce is the star quality, she just is.
Of course if Kelly starts dating 50 or somebody like that and hits the red carpet then that'll change, but she has never been in demand.
|
Four words: Nothing but the truth.
First of all, Kelly has a strong voice, the girl can sing. The new style she rocked at the VMAs suited her and her old ver short cut was too cute. Unlike Beyonce she has not had nearly as many fashion or hair trains (perhaps because Kelly's body is mor proportionate than Beyonce's). And while I think Beyonce does have vocal and song writing talent so does Kelly. I think the Knowles don't know how to be objective. Matthew has Beyonce up their rubbing with other celebrities and networking so they'll say wonderful things about her and in turn convince the whole world. I'm a business major, I was taught If you want to sell something you have to convince the other person they want what you're trying to offer. Attitudes are more important than facts. If you put Beyonce up there as the best and she gives off that appearance then most likely others will accept her as the best.
In the end, if Kelly and Michelle are willing to settle with Matthew then that's something they'll have to answer for when asked why they never performed up to their potential.

I have also noticed she has moved away from the "nest weave" and opted for a much better job on the hair.

I totally agree with you. When Destiny's Child was at their peak, I wasn't big on Beyonce because I thought she was taking over. But I do see now that she is a hard worker and seems to be down to earth. She can dance. She's beautiful, talented, and nice. What's not to like?
I think that the incident that caused Latoya, Latavia, and Farrah to leave was a little exaggerated. I'm sure Matthew is no doubt very controlling and tends to spotlight his daughter a little more, but at the same time, those three girls were probably hating on B. If Destiny's Child was managed by another group, would Beyonce be marketed as much as she is now? I think so. People want Beyonce and it's as simple as that. In fact, were the hell are Latoya, Latavia, and Farrah??? If they possessed the same level of star quality, I'm sure someone would've picked them up and we would've heard from them by now.

As many threads as we have about successful people who CANNOT sing and those who can sing and do not seem to make it big on GC, do you really beleive this is true?

I smiled when Beyonce' was on the show -- I smiled while she was talking about her group -- I smiled when they showed pictures of her and Sean in St. Tropez -- I smiled . . . good show and good idea to get her on the show.
edited to add that I smiled when she said that she has a lifetime membership card to Popeye's -- she won't use it because she is embarrassed, but that's another interesting little tidbit.

Unfortunately Isabel preempted Oprah in Baltimore. I was all set to watch it since I was home for a change and they didn't show it. Did she say anything interesting? Did Oprah get her to comment at all on her relationship with Jay-Z?

The only interesting thing that I heard was the fact that she said she did not like her ears because they are big. I only found this funny because I remember this was a GC topic a while ago.
They showed pics of her and Jay-Z on vacation in St. Tropez (sp?). Oprah asked but Beyonce said that she likes to keep her private life private. However, I saw a new pic of them in Us magazine, again on vacation, with his hand all up her butt, and I mean that literally.

My sister taped the show. Oprah said "there are rumors about a relationship with you and rapper Jay-Z." and B. nods her head and says "yes." But then Oprah kinda deflected the whole thing by telling her to keep her private life to herself and how she wishes that she had never mentioned "what's his name's name." (referring to Steadman).

- B nodded her head "yes" to say "yes, there have been rumors about her and Jay-Z," but she never said yes or no to them actually having a relationship. In my opinion, when people are in the light like she is...things like that should be private. They already get enough attacks on every other aspect of their life, why bring people into your relation(s).

I mean...
I think its safe to say that her personal life went out the window when she basically made a whole 3/4 of a CD about her relationship. You dont have to talk about the specifics, but we can conclude that there is "somebody rockin knockin the boots".
She I mean I dont wanna know about what goes on behind closed doors anyways. Its still a little freightening.
On the other hand, more power to her.

I like her w/o the extra hair.
I can appreciate that. She needs the weave to make it full.

She looks a looooooot betta without the weave. Her mama needs to do some intense hair care maintenance on her head though.
Thanks to TooCute for the photos. Her and Mr. CT4 sent them to me.
