So here is all what went down tonight:
After we were all registered they hearded us into the theater at the union. All the orchestra seats were full, so that means like 450 girls are rushing! Alot more than I thought would be there.
But anyway we met in our Rho Chi groups. I have about 30 some girls (Is that alot?). Mostly all freshman, about 3-5 sophmores and 2 juniors including myself. I really hit it off with the other junior, she is in the exact same situation I am: recently out of LT relationship, stuck in a social rut, and basically ready (and psyched) to give the greek system a chance. I was listening to the frosh chatting and I was sad to hear a group of them swearing up and down all they wanted was so and so house.
I absolutely heart my Rhos. My group is accually lead by 3 of them and they have so much enegry it just rubs off. We really just went over what is the schedual, conflicts, and read the info booklet. We did a *fast* ice breaker...its so funny to watch how diffrent the girls are: from bubbles to cop a 'tude. I'm sure they see me as that weird-o junior. Teehee.
So tomorrow I will go to 4- 30 minute parties. The houses will put on skits and have refreshments. Dress is causal, but I'm wearing nicer pants. But that is all I know.
BTW here is a list of the chapters on campus:
Alpha Chi Omega
Alpha Epsilon Phi
Alpha Phi
Chi Omega
Delta Delta Delta
Delta Gamma
Gamma Phi Beta
Kappa Alpha Theta
Kappa Kappa Gamma
Pi Beta Phi
Sigma Delta Tau
See ya tomorrow!

By the the way again...I think I'm going to code the GLOs by using signs of the Zodiac. Yey! Get it? The days of the months are coded by the "house" of a constellation is seen. A sorority and stellar house. But since there is only 11 houses on campus I will have to cut one of the signs. Cancer will probably because I don't want to be saying "OOhhh I want Cancer so badly"!
Anyway I should be off to bed now. Night,

That's ok - we recently had a rush thread where a PNM used the Hogwarts houses from Harry Potter, and she wound up really liking Slytherin
What does the rest of your schedule look like?
Best of luck and have fun!

First Rounds: Night 1
So tonight we went to the first four houses of the week. Oddly enough they were most of the houses I was really looking at so they had all my first night engery. This round's focus is skits and we spend a total of 35 minutes at each.
Gemini: Cute Candyland theme about looking for the right home. I was rushed by three girls, they were all super and really friendly. They had a very welcome vibe to house and seemed receptive to my upperclassman status. Plus awesome cheers and very enthusastic. I hope to be asked back.
Libra: The house choose a tropical paradise theme and had a TRL like skit. I was only rushed by 2 girls here. The first girl I spoke too was absolutely adorable. Libra is a very popular house, but I couldn't really see what was so special. Now I maybe be biased because I doubt they will bid a junior. But no big deal, I didn't realy feel connected.
Pisces: Movie theme. They also have a goregous house. I was rushed by 3 girls who were older and one was a transfer student. I have a good feeling about this house and the girls are very down to earth and honest. Something I am looking for. Plus a good philanthropy and lots of leadership opps. The girls seem diverse and did an awesome job of making me feel welcome. Another one I hope to see again.
Aquarius: Another movie theme. A really thought out and wicked skit that was the best of the night. I reeeeeeealllly loved this house. The girls had so much energy and obviously had alot of spirt for their sorority. I rushed with 4 girls here, 3 of them were awesome, but one seemed to stop listening the minute I said I was a junior. She didn't even pretend to listen. But the others were so great it overpowers the few bad minutes spent with the other one. I really want to be invited back here. It really suprised me in a good way.
Im so exhaused and need my beauty sleep for the next day. 4 down and 7 to go. YEY. Its all to exciting!
