I joined a colony so I didn't get the bid day experience, but we gave our girls a tote bag, bid day shirt, stadium cup, pens, pencils, notepads, letter sticker for their car, and an ID holder!

When I became a brother of APO, I ain't get ISHT!

When I became an Alpha.....I got:

My history book and pin (of course), Alpha umbrella, set of ten note cards and a bookmark, a ceramic figurine, a picture of King Tut, three t-shirts, alpha cups, a leather keychain, a coolie (to put cold beverages in), and a lapel pin. Those were right after initiation, from my chapter brothers.

My mom (DST) got me a Sphinx figurine and a Pharaoh's head figurine, both were black and gold. I got those that night.

Over the next week, I got Alpha socks (!) and another keychain from a friend out west, the "Fraternity Row" print from a Delta friend in the midwest, and from my Delta and (at the time soon-to-be) Zeta friends -- a long sleeved t-shirt, short sleeved t-shirt, and a coaches jacket -- yes, the adgreek.com special.

Wow, I got a lot of stuff.

I received a jersey with my letters on it, and a sports bottle with my letters and a rose on it. At the time, only one store in the country (I think) carried anything for our sorority, so we were grateful for anything

Edited to Add: I received these items when I became an official sister.

I recieved my letter shirt (after initiation of course) and my paddle from my Big. It's hard being a local, you can't get all the cute stuff premade

When I recieved my Little, she got from me:
- tie-dye letter shirt (I had a matching one )
- all sorts of lamb figurines
- a Lambda bowing pin
- Big/Little paddle

The day I crossed, I received: a lanyard, license plate frame, duffle bag, skull cap, umbrella, keychain, socks (me too Phrat--they are comfy though)

Within the next month or so, I received alot of gifts from sorors(I love them! ): jacket, 2 t-shirts, hockey jersey, 2 totebags, briefcase, purse, scrapbook, house slippers , another license frame, 2 more keychains, stuffed froggy, froggy bracelet, about 6 lapel pins, 2 photo albums, stationary and pens, a pink and green clock, a picture frame, framed copy of our national hymn, a few AKA wall hangers and other crafts, lipstick case, AKA stamps and ink pad , and a CD with AKA chants and songs.

I know I'm forgetting something, but that's enough.

A whole lot of candy for sure. And candles... TONS of candles. I don't know why but I was coming home with one every week.

As the semester progressed, I would get a gift every week. License plate frame, stickers, notepads, pens, etc. I didn't get an actual set of letters until initiation.

My big got creative though. I got a little doorhanger, picture frames, a teacup and saucer (???), a badge box, photo album, family drink, lots of little boxes and knick knacks, a lavieler (sp), and more candy... even though I can't have it...

I got a bid day shirt and a standard issue "pi" pack on bid day this is a bag that has an Adpi cup, key chain, bumpersticker, pencil, button and note pad. We also got spirit beads.

The week after retreat my diamond sis left me, a decorated tupperware box full of cookies, a marker board, a framed poem she picked out for me, and a copy of the open motto. For initation she got me my first set of letters a handmade candle holder and, for some strange reason a stuffed frog, I'm problably the only diamond sis in the history of ADPi not to get a lion from her Big.

New Member Gift

At our first Alpha Session (those educational sessions for pledges or as we call them "Alphas") I got a lavalier on a white ribbon to wear throughout my alpha period.
