True. BTW, I was actually very surprised when I saw my school included in your list, Adpiucf.
Just to add a little more to the Stanislaus info (since i'm sure you are all dying to know. most of you are going. where the hell is that anyway)
We have all together 13 GLOs on campus. 2 NPC (like Glitter mentioned). 2 NIC, and 2 national music orgs. the rest are local/regional.
We are a huge commuter campus without greek housing. Greeks do however dominate the campus with everything. We are all very involved (*cough* some more than others... *cough* ) with our campus activities. We participate in all the events and all that good stuff. The school does support us. However they could support us a little bit more; but I'll take what I can get.
We do have some anti-greek students though. (losers anyway if you ask me. hee hee) Our community does know that we are out here and all, but there are others that will pull the whole "there are greeks at Stan?" deal oh well. I like my small greek school though. it works for me!

Pepperdine: Small Greek System, unhoused chapters. There are seven NPC groups right now: Alpha Phi, Gamma Phi Beta, Delta Gamma, Delta Delta Delta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, and Pi Beta Phi. Chapter size is actually fairly large (b/w 60 and 100) and a large portion of the student body is greek. There are five IFC fraternities: Psi U, Sigma Chi, Beta Theta Pi, Sigma Nu and Sig Ep.
Santa Clara: The Greek System is NOT recognized at Santa Clara. There are two NPC sororities: Alpha Phi & Delta Gamma. I know SAE still has a chapter there but I am not certain what other fraternities are still there. Here is a link to an article about the phase out of greek life at SCU.

What about University of San Diego (private, Catholic, I think) -- isn't Greek Life strong there?

They're Sororities, number wise, are MUCh bigger than SDSU, Gamma Phi at SDSU is about 75, and at USD it's about 150. Only thing is that we're the only ones who have greek houses.
Both IFC and Panhellenic have about 5 GLOs each, and are fairly big, except I think Delts are closing.
The multicultural spread hasn't came to USD yet, as far as I know they only have one.

My cousin is going to UCSB next year, but I have a feeling she's not interested in Greek life. If anyone has any info to post for the hell of it, though, I am a little curious about it...
(I think we used to have an AGD chapter there that's inactive now, but that's all I know.)

I have a friend who is now an alum Kappa from USD..(graduated in spring) and I know her chapter was pretty big... but I don't know about greek life in general there...
Santa Clara greek life isn't recognized on campus... (IE can't advertise at school, no money, etc..) BUT they have houses and are NPC sponsered... and are doing so well they are are looking into expansion... from what I heard at an Northern Cali. NPC luncheon this past spring...

No, but there is/was a laura in their chapter with my same name. Very funny! Leads to lots of confusion in A Phi.

USD
hey i just saw this thread... im a gamma phi beta at usd, and greek life is pretty big here. my house is the biggest with around 150 sisters. im not sure which sorority has the lowest membership, but im sure that none have below 100 members (there are 5 sororities - ADPi, Alpha Phi, Gamma Phi, Theta, and Kappa).
as for fraternities, well we're kind of running low on guys at our school in general, and the fraternity membership reflects that unfortuneately. i think either lambda chi or sigma chi has the highest membership with around 75 or so? its somewhere around there... the other 2 fraternities are sig ep and delta tau delta. i know the delts have somewhere around 20 members or less, and i dont know how many sig eps there are...
im actually the prvp for panhellenic at my school, and i have to revamp the whole site, but ill let yall know when i get it up and running so you can check it out! our whole greek life page is getting re-done this summer, ugh so much work!
xoxo

My parents, sister (biological -- she is a Theta from Loyola Marymount - graduated a few years ago), and my cousin (she graduated from USD but did not go thru recruitment) -- well they all live in San Diego -- in the Tierra Santa area -- and both my sister and cousin tell me how great the Gamma Phis are at USD -- YAY!! Y'all rock!!
I am coming out for a visit to San Diego this weekend and one of these days I should try and swing by the Gamma Phi house at USD to check it out -- actually I am planning to head up to my old chapter at Southern Cal -- gotta get a new USC-logo top for the 30 August football game against Auburn (at Auburn) -- beat the War Eagles!

Theta announced plans to expand at Santa Clara. From what I've heard they've started the advertising and stuff. One of my friends out there was thinking of trying.

Wouldn't you know it, at this very moment, I happen to be wearing my very faded USC Football t-shirt.
Though I went to CSULB (and most definitely have the Beach Pride), I have been declared an "Honorary Trojan" by my friends. To cement it, my friend bought me the t-shirt.

Re: Re: USD
Don't know anything about the Greek system in the area but as a Bama alum, I have to second "Beat the War Eagles"! I pull for two teams - Bama & whoever is playing Auburn! Good luck to SC!!

university of the pacific
hey, i'm a Pike at UOP, here's whats going on there...
IFC:
Pike
Phi Delt
Sigma Chi
Theta Chi (colony)
Omega Phi Alpha (local)
Sororities
Alpha Phi
Delta Gamma
Kappa Alpha Theta
Tri Delt
i think greek life makes up about 20 to 25% of the student body. All greek organizations have their own house, except for theta chi. but all houses are owned by the school, so this means RA's and all that good stuff. Sizes of fraternities range from about 90 (pike) to around 20 (theta chi) sororities are all around 80 or 90.... i think thats all i can think of for now...
