All this talk of pierogi reminds me of when I brought my now-husband home to Pittsburgh to meet my family. My Polish grandma made her incredibly yummy homemade pierogi in honor of the occasion and I will never forget the look on the poor woman's face when John (a total, total WASP) doused his with catsup! That's simply not done! lol

Killarney Rose, that is TOO FUNNY! A couple years ago, I went through some intense tummy problems, and went about 30 days without eating anything solid (that would stay down). I finally told my (Southern WASP) mama that I had been able to hold down a potato piergogi. She was very happy, then paused and said, "I'm trying to think how you had a pierogi in your house?"

The joys of WASP-dom!
