(The original with James Caan and Billy Dee Williams was LOOOTTSS better than the TV movie.)

I forgot!!!

Message in a Bottle! I liked the book better than the movie, but I have to admit, Catherine's letter [To all the ships at sea and all the ports of call...] still gives me chills. Nicholas Sparks is just too awesome.

I wanted to post this! Something for the guys ya know. You are so right, I saw the remake and it paled compared to James Caan!!!

I thought of two more-
The World According to Garp
Heaven help me with the name but- Michael Keaton played a father to be that knew he was dying so he made a video tape for his future child. I think it was "My Life". Edited here- OK so tis was posted. A HUGE thumbs up for one real tear jerker of a movie!!! sniff- sniff-sob!

Imitation of Life- I was in Junior High when I saw it. That's one I will NEVER forget.
Beaches-good choice!
My daughter's first movie that made her cry was "Harry and the Hendersons".

Arrow Life Is Beautiful

Another movie that is really really a tear-jerker is a movie called "Life is Beautiful".

I heard about it from my older sister who highly recommended it.

It's a foreign language film (can't remember what language it was in though) but it has English captions... I think there might be all-english versions of it out there.. but I'm not sure.

It's a really bitter-sweet movie.

For those of you interested, I got the synopsis of the movie:

An endearing Jewish-Italian waiter (Benigni) successfully courts a beautiful Italian woman in pre-WWII Italy. A few years later, when he and his idyllic family are taken to a Nazi concentration camp, he uses his magical gifts of humor and romance to see his loved ones through their uncertain days. Ultimately a beautiful, poignant story, unique in its tragi-comic treatment of the subject. Winner of the 1998 Academy Awards for Best Actor (Benigni, in a major Oscar night upset) and Best Foreign Film.

It should be at most Blockbuster movie-rental places

I never cried at a movie, but that one came close.

The end of My Girl was pretty depressing.

Well let's see, I've got a couple....

A Walk To Remember, I cried so hard during this movie!
American History X
Steel Magnolias

And the all time worst is....MONSTER'S BALL, this movie is so hard to watch, I started crying in the very beginning and did not stop until after it was over. I felt like I had been through emotional hell after I watched this b/c i was so drained. Just when you think this movie can not possibly get ANYMORE depressing or sad it DOES!!! Ugghhh! A great movie, but so insanely hard to watch!!!!!

ETA: I also cry during most Disney movies, esp. Lilo & Stitch, everytime I watch it I tear up. I cried during Finding Nemo the other night too, oh no.

OMG OMG OMG if we're talking about the same movie! The one where the lil girl gets accidentally kidnapped? I loved that lil girl! That's gota be one of the all time greatest movies!

La Bamba when Bob yells out "RICHIE" at the end.

Monsters Inc... lol I cried at the movies

Beaches, Stepmom, and Steel Magnolias I bawl my eyes out to no end

A walk to remember was soooo good and we had to watch American History X in my Mass Communications class... trying not to cry at the ending with the "racist old black woman" at the front making comments.

Ghost.
