I'm not sure if they'll take reservations on Saturdays. A lot of restaurants aren't doing that any more on weekends. What we can do if they don't take reservations is make sure we have a count and one person is designated to go put in our name before 5:00 so by the time 5:00 comes around its not too long a wait. Also, from experience last time - a lot of people said they were coming then couldn't at the last minute and other brought friends with them so the numbers would have changed.

Just hopefully everyone will make sure to confirm that week that they are coming and whether meeting to go to the park or just coming for the dinner.

I'm going to try to make it. I have work until about 6:30 on the 12th, most likely, but maybe I can convince my boss otherwise... and she doesn't really post (like, ever), but one of my co-workers is on GC (piphialltheway) and might come with me if I can get her away from her boyfriend for the night.

Hi Ya'll!

I'm currently in Northern California and will probably be living in Las Vegas, NV come July. However, I am originally from Southern California... Can I still come? I have a couple sisters living in the So. Cal area as long as a few aquaintances from other LGLO's. Is it okay if I bring a couple peeps?

i was all stoked to go...but our alumni just bought me and another guy our plane tickets for our men of excellence woodrow willson leadership school, and we leave the 12th...i guess this will be the 2nd socal gc meeting i will miss...

You better come if you can make it and bring your friends. Although the post says SoCal gathering - anyone that can make it in for that weekend is more then welcome to come. Hey anyway we can finally starting meeting our greekchat brothers and sisters is great.

It looks like most of the California GC gang lives down in the southern part of CA.

I live up near Sacramento. What dates were most people thinking of??

The So. Cal GC get together is scheduled for Saturday July 12. And although it says So. Cal any GCers that can make it out for it are more then welcome to come. Most of us will meet at 5:00 p.m. at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney. However since some people may be traveling a ways to come in and may want to go to Disneyland or Disney's California Adventure there are plans to meet in front of the parks around noonish for those that want to go play in the parks before dinner. The big gathering will be the 5:00 p.m. dinner thing. About two weeks before we'll need to verify how many are coming so we can see if they take reservations - if they don't then what we can do is someone go early to put our name and number in then just wander around Downtown Disney shops. I can do it because I have an annual pass and will just go visit one of the parks.

by the way. Disneyland shoots off fireworks at 9:30 every night so if we'll be able to watch them from the main entrance plaza after dinner.

that will be getting a room the night before 7/11 or staying over on the 12th? If so what hotel/motel? I'm about 7.5 to 8 hrs away from the LA area.

Edited to add: (Sorry haven't been to LA since 1982 ish). Do you have to enter the park to gain access to Brennan's Jazz Kitchen? And if possible is someone going to post the names of the GLOs that will be represented down there? (Please PM me -Thanks.)

Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen is located in Downtown Disney, you only have to pay for parking and the first 2 or 3 hours are free with validation since it isn't in the park itself. Downtown Disney is a shopping and entertainment district between Disneyland, Disneys California Adventure, and the Disneyland hotels. checkout the www.disneylandresort.com to get more information about Downtown Disney.

In the next week or so I'll go through the listing of who's said they are coming so far and write them down with their affiliation. Then I'll update it periodically. Hope you can make it down.

Sounds like a bunch of Phi Sigs from Iota Gamma will be there (BTW - we ROCK!!!!)

I wish I could come....I'm having surgery on June 30th, and I won't be able to drive for about 3 weeks after the fact, so I won't be able to make it up there....but I'm all about planning a get-together down in San Diego sometime in the future!!!!
