Ours was "In My Life" by The Beatles.

I know this is sooooooo ridiculously cheesy but there's this song by The Backstreet Boys called "How Did I Fall In Love With You" yea yea I know it's a BSB song, but the words to it are so sweet the song makes me cry everytime I hear it. I either want that played first, or The Dance by Garth Brooks.

Is it just me or does it seem that that the ladies of GC are leaning very much toward the theme of weddings and things of this nature in all the threads lately???
Anyways as for me...when i get married i would like
lone star "Amazed"
I already know what I want for my wedding....its all in my head...
*sigh*

When I got married in 1996 we did our first dance to "Nothing has ever felt like this" by Will Downing and Rachelle Ferrell. We did our father daughter/mother son dance to "Wind beneath my Wings"

Songs from weddings I've been to/sang at over the past few years:
"Faithfully" by Journey (my parents' wedding song actually)
"From This Moment" by Shania Twain and Brian White
"Let's Make Love" Faith Hill and Tim McGraw
"Snow on the Sahara" by Anguun
"This Love" by Don Henley
"I Do (Cherish You)" by 98 Degrees
"I Love You" by Sarah McLaughlin
...
there are more but I'm at work so when I think of them I'll come back and edit....

Our first dance was "A Whole New World".
Our last dance was "Because You Loved Me".
We also considered "Everything I do, I do it for you" (not sure of the exact title offhand) and a few others.
If I could have reached forward in time, I would have liked "If You're Not the One". That was just on the radio, and they announced the performer, and I can't remember... Daniel something?

Although I have no major plans for a wedding anytime soon, I really really really really really want Clay Aiken (from American Idol II) to sing "I Could Not Ask For More" (an Edwin McCain song) for my first dance. I know, I am dreaming, but I'm allowed. On the same topic, instead of the traditional music being played while you are eating, I want ALL Dave Matthews Band music played. I am talking the mellow, easy listening music. Maybe I will let a few other songs sneak in there, but we'll see
Ah, I love this topic. I can't wait for my day to come.

A song I doubt any have heard of (Unless you're from Texas or Alabama), "Angel Eyes" by Willis Allen Ramsey NOT the other song.
edited to add a sense of the song.
She is one with the mountains, she is one with the range. She is home in the woodlands, she is home on the range.
And all these things of beauty have left a kiss on her, I tell you Sir.
I said Lord she's as sweet as one of her pecan pies. Listening to her laughter I get hypnotized. Goodness knows I love my Angel Eyes.

I was so going to say that if someone else didn't! I LOVE THAT SONG... lately, it's been contagious with my family and friends, but I've loved it since I first heard it... definitely played at my wedding if I ever get married...
Along with Frank Sinatra "The way you look tonight," "butterfly kisses" (for me and daddy), Sara Evans version of "I could not ask for more," and DEFINITELY "Good morning Beautiful" by Steve Holy... yes, it will be a very country wedding... sorry to whatever country-hating man I marry

Our song was Sara Evans version of "I could not ask for more."
Lying here with you,
Listening to the rain,
Smiling just to see, The smile upon your face,
These are the moments, I thank God that I'm alive,
These are the moments, I'll remember all my life,
I found all I've waited for,
And I could not ask for more.
Looking in your eyes,
Seeing all I need,
Everything you are, Is everything to me,
These are the moments, I know heaven must exist,
These are the moments, I know all I need is this,
I have all I've waited for,
And I could not ask for more.
Chorus:
I could not ask for more than this time together,
I could not ask for more than this time with you,
Every prayer has been answered,
Every dream I have's come true,
And right here in this moment, Is right where I meant to be,
Here with you, Here with me. . .
These are the moments, I thank God that I'm alive,
These are the moments, I'll remember all my life,
I've got all I've waited for,
And I could not ask for more. . .
Chorus:
I could not ask for more than this time together,
I could not ask for more than this time with you,
Every prayer has been answered,
Every dream I have's come true,
And right here in this moment, Is right where I meant to be,
Here with you, Here with me. . .
I could not ask for more than the love you gave me,
'Coz it's all I've waited for . . .
And I could not ask for more,
I could not ask for more.
We were thinking about Lonestar's Amazed, but it was too overplayed at the time...I think it would be a lot better now.
We knew that whatever song we picked it would be country.

Our first dance song was Sara Evans' "I Could Not Ask for More". Our second song was Keith Whitley's "When You Say Nothing at All". And I walked down the aisle to "A Love as True as Mine" by George Strait.
BTW, I noticed that a lot of you said your first dance was to "The Dance" by Garth Brooks. That's one I don't understand. I see it as a sad song, about the loss of a loved one. When the DJ played it at my wedding, I ran out of the building crying, saying "This is not a wedding song". (Well, it didn't help playing that song at my wedding, when my Big died in July, and my wedding was in April the next year, and I had really been looking forward to seeing her there.) Just my opinion.

This is one of the songs that my fiance & I do for karaoke! That, and "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole & Natalie Cole. Can you really go wrong with Nat King Cole?
Good to see so much love for "In My Life" by the Beatles! I'm a huge Beatles fan, and that's in my top five.
I hadn't considered "At Last" but boy, is that appropriate!!!!
