We were chatting on AIM. I totally missed this message somehow, so I didn't even know you were still awake. Sorry, Lizz!

Can I be an honorary insomniac if I'm still up this late after getting up at 7am yesterday morning and I'm still not super sleepy?

Hello my sleep-issued friends! My problems started fall semester and have gotten increasingly worse. Last semester I would get up reasonably early in the morning after waking up 20 times during the night, function okay all day, go over to Lee's, fall asleep at like 8:00, and have him wake me up at 2. I'd then drive home, go to sleep (or try), and wake up 30 bajillion times.

Now I just can't fall asleep at night, no matter how tiring my day was - and I wake up about 2 times, but I've been having nightmares, so then I wake up more.

I'm a night owl/insomniac! I'll be dog tired, and then get in my bed and end up still awake an hour or two later. It's like I can't shut my mind up - always thinking of anything and everything! Then when I finally do go to sleep, I have vivid dreams or nightmares. Sometimes my dreams are so busy, I wake up feeling even worse then when I went to bed! I rarely take sleep aids - just survive on 3-6 hours each night. Usually DH lets me sleep late on Saturday mornings and I guess I catch up on it all then! Looking forward to the rest of this summer when I won't have to get up! Put a box of cereal out and let the girls have at it!

I'm surprised that I'm not an insomniac. Having worked in a call center for the past 17 months, I've worked every shift know to man

Like 2 weeks ago, my shift was 12-9pm, now it's 7am-4pm. Having my shift changed every 4 weeks really screws up my sleep pattern.

***BUMP***

I went to sleep at midnight and, thanks to the windows rattling from the wind, woke up at 2:00. Haven't been able to get back to sleep.

I use flannel all year round. In the summer, I just crank up the AC a little bit more, just like the way that Nixon used to crank up the AC in the Whitehouse in the summer so he could comfortably use the fireplaces.

Of course it'd help if I put some pants on.
