I am VERY supportive of the United States military...whether I agree with everything this country does or not....but it just really makes my skin crawl when people are crying about the troops this and the troops that.....

Its simple...if You don't like what this country does...the wars we fight and our leadership...you really shouldn't be signing up to lay your life on the line for the good ol' US...

Thats why I am not in the military and I pay my student loans faithfully...yea that $50,000 would have been great...but I ain goin to war
I don't think any human in their right mind "wants" to go to war. I am a Surface Warfare Officer in the US Navy, and I am preparing to go on a long deployment, and no I'm not ecstatic about it. When you are away from friends and family, its hard, no matter how you slice it, especially when you add that to the chance that you MAY not return home. Yes I signed up for it, yes its a necessary evil, and yes, despite it all I love my job, and am proud of what I do. But I really don't think you can speak on what military people should or shouldn't feel unless you've personally experienced it.

What about the civillians who are going to places such as Iraq for the contracting, truck driving, etc jobs for $100,000 tax free? I have a LS who has been there since February. It's the Haliburton workers... Anyway, that guy that's being held hostage from Mississippi was one of the workers. I read in the paper today that a few bodies have been found and they were Haliburton workers.

I'm sorry (like I told my LS when she got over there after she told me that I could "do it") I'd rather stay over here broke than over there for some tax free money.

She/workers are allowed to come home every 3 months for 2 weeks. She called me Friday saying she will be home next month.

IMO, it's not worth it.
