ucla got soooooo lucky; if our field goal kicker and our freshman quarterback weren't bitches, we would've won that game by 10 or more pts.
Exactly! Everyone has a bad day. And from what I heard, UCLA really did get lucky. Um, a 3 point win is nothing to shout about. But I guess for some, a win is a win. That's alright though. Now that my boys have played UCLA, we'll be ready for Illinois next! GO BLUE!!

UCLA-A 3 point win is something to celebrate. A win is a win. It's even sweeter when the other team is favored to win. That's the 2nd week in a row that UCLA has knocked off an opponent ranked #3. And speaking of...

Polls- I think they are crap. The coaches poll is big popularity contest. 'Bama was ranked #3 at the beginning of the season before a game had even been played. That's ridiculous! Nebraska and Florida St. are still ranked #1 and #2 despite struggling to beat Notre Dame and Ga. Tech respectively.

Teams with soft schedules (Forida St., VT, and Kansas St) are all ranked pretty high but look who they're playing. The Big East and ACC conferences are a joke compared to the SEC and Pac-10. What college football really needs is a playoff system.

PS> GO HOKIES!!!!!

Eclipse- That was a really good game, until that HORRIBLE call at the end. No way in heck that Gaffney had control of that ball and that was NOT a TD. I was pulling for Florida (for some odd reason) but UT got robbed big time. There is a good picture of the controversial 'catch' at:

It will be interesting to see whether UT will file a complaint with the SEC.

That must've been a good game. I respect both of those teams, but don't count out Michigan and the BIG TEN; they'll be back. Ucla and Washington are okay too; but the rest of the pac-10 is sorry as hell-and so are the acc, big east, and big-12.

ZetaAce--they probably will seeing that they complained a few years ago when Peyton (Manning) didn't win the heisman! I think they got the governor involved in that one.

I also agree with your statement about the polls, even though my team (Alabama) is out (and so they should be), there is definately some overranking going on.

***Please Original, no 'Bama jokes, I'm feeling a little sensitive right now. LOL

There will always be some over-rating going on. They do that to spur controversy and keep out attention. They also do it to be inclusive of all the conferences. I think the sec has 6 teams, the big ten 5, big 12 4, pac 10 3, and so forth. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty close.

As for Alabama, I respect them because they always play a hard, if not the hardest schedule in college football. Notre Dame used to play the hardest, with Michigan a close second; but nobody plays a tough one anymore.

Actually ZetaAce I fell asleep during the last minutes of the game and woke (is that a word???) up when my husband jumped up yelling and almost made me fall off the couch!! I was too delirious to even focus on the TV.

I'll have to catch it on ESPN. If it was that big of a controversy I know I will see it again!

Wow this board just blew up!

Well I agree that a win is a win. But it depends on how it's won. I said that "3 points is nothing to shout about" because it seems as if some people think Michigan got blew out by like 50 points or something! No, it was just 3. And it was a very lucky three. I've read several articles about it now and they've all said that UCLA barely got by UofM. From what I understand, we started making all kinds of mistakes at the end (that stuff happens to everybody). Therefore, the Bruins capitalized on it and got lucky. So a 3 point win...whatever! IF UCLA was ALL that, um, they would've kicked our a$$ a little bit harder don't ya think? But that's ok. Michigan always learns from their mistakes. Lloyd will make sure of that and we'll be back up to par come Saturday

All of you Wolverines said that UCLA didn't stand a chance. 3 points isn't a lot of points, but it's damn good for a team who was a 19 points underdog! Don't make excuses for the loss. If I go by the theory that 3 points is nothing then Michigan will win a lot of games (YEAH RIGHT!!!)

Hey! Ucla won. But I'm sure you saw the game. You know they(Michigan) should've won by at least 10pts.: two missed field goals, and a pass that should've went for a touchdown but was picked off because the stupid freshman quarterback tried to force one. I admit to the loss; but you KNOW how it happened.

If ucla is all that, we'll see yall in the RoseBowl and show yall what we really got!

Well despite the guarantees and threats about their greatness, THEY LOST!!!!! UCLA ran up in em! All of the PIG PEN, I mean, Big Ten winners struggled. Teams like Ohio State barely beat MIAMI(OH) and Wisconsin got by Cincinatti by a prayer. I think you should reevaluate this PIG PEN CONFERENCE POWER!
Hey Bruh!

What happened to your Bruins? They got quacked, huh!

The "Pig Pen" conference STILL has six(6)teams in the Top Twenty Five!

Though the SEC, Big Ten, and Big East are strong conferences, I would have to give it to the Pac-Ten, always a tough conference.
But, the national Champs will be Bobby B and the Florida State D.

SEC? SEC should really be called SAC(Sorry A$$ Conference) I'm glad nobody was here this weekend to watch LSU get their butt kicked by a Conference USA team. During Homecoming no less. I'm almost ashamed to call myself a LSU Tiger. And things go from bad worst in the next 2 weeks. This weekend we play Tenn (who had fun ripping apart University of Louisiana-Monroe. NLU for the Louisiana people) The week after that we go to the SWAMP! And I hear NOBODY gets out of the SWAMP!
