Who is to say that Flash wouldn't take those sort of photos? I mean, hell, they took pictures of a girl with her mouth on something coming out of a guy's pants!! A topless shot isn't much worse...or are you saying that they DIDN'T take the topless shot?

Whoa! Calm down! The *only* reason I mentioned those photos is because they're NOT ONLINE ANYMORE!! They were removed by whoever it is that didn't like them being there.

Flash Foto should really fix their password protection.

I have a friend in the nameless sorority and she was one of the girls with her top off. She sent me the link and I didn't even have to type a password in.

It's against the law for them to take nude snap shots and then post them publicly.

Then mentioned this on regular CNN tonight. Its going national so the school or Sigma Chi's will have to take some action or look bad. I see the party pics have allready been taken down.

They may or may not get into national trouble...As you can see in the articles, Sigma Chi was told to "tone down" the bikers and babes event...Evidently, some of the brothers did not take this advice to heart and pulled a few pranks. Nothing against Theta or anything but I'm not even in a sorority and I know the types of things that go on at Bikers and Babes. Girls who go to the event are usually pretty brave and well aware that they are to become a Sigma Chi's "bitch" for the night. The party is seriously out of control but wicked fun, speaking from experience...It's stupid pranks and all that, but it's not like these girls were beat up and tied up...They volunteered to be a part of this and went willingly...I know I'm probably going to get yelled at for this post but let me clear up that I am in no way supporting what Sigma Chi did...but this has gone on pretty much every year. no one forced those girls to go...so why blame the sigma Chi's for doing the same thing they always do, except not as bad as the years before! If you don't like what is going to go on at an event...DON'T GO! They can't have a party if no one goes to it!!

Ok, stepping down off my soapbox. Sorry in advance if this offends people, but it's just my opinion on the stuff that happened...

I'm not going to yell at you, and not that your opinion doesn't mean anything, but speaking as a UF alumna and more importantly, a KD alumna who deeply cares about Greeks' reputation - esp from my own campus..

The "Everyone's done it and we lived through it" mentality is dangerous.

If you know the history of why chapters get their charters pulled, then you will see that this is always a reason the collegians give.

Do you think the girls really knew they'd have to get on their knees in front of a guy, with the crowd cheering them on? Do you think she'd refuse? Have you ever had a crowd going "Go go go!" at you and then turned around and refused? Probably not. Peer pressure is incredible, isn't it?

And on top of all that, do you think the girls knew that a photographer would be there?

You're right about the Greek reputation comment... It obviously isn't as important to me, but I know that most people, going into the event, knew what was going to happen. The way the fraternity announced the event should have been a dead give away. I know at one sorority house, the girls went bobbing for dildos in a tub of whipped cream and had a cow heart put on her head. And that was JUST the announcing. As I said, I think it's actually pretty disgusting, but it does make for an interesting evening...

And you're also right, I don't know why charters get pukked etc. but I hope they save the charter pulling for the more serious crimes...like rape and drugging and other stuff like that.

And actually, I am almost positive the girls knew Flash would be there...He's at everything! It seems they probably needed to cover their a$$'s after seeing the pics. But you are probably on the right track in that the girls probably din NOT think they would have those kinds of pictures taken!
And you're definitely right about peer pressure. It's a very dangerous thing, and I'll just say again, I am in NO WAY supporting what they did, I'm just being a bit of Devil's Advocate and presenting the other side...which is mainly that I think these girls knew what was going to happen at the event, but did not know that those particular acts would be photographed.

I can't speak for fraternities - or even other sororities - but I know that Kappa Delta will pull a charter for behavior like that. It happened to 2 of our chapters just about a year ago.

I would think that other sororities feel the same...everyone's nationals are on the same side when it comes to things like this.

More serious crimes? It's bad enough to be photographed in front of your sorority house, with a dildo in your mouth!

Do you think that picture is going to go away? No. And thanks to the internet, it'll be around the world in no time.

Have you been emailed one of those Flashpartypic pictures of girls with their breasts exposed? Do you know who Libby Hoeler is? (do a google search on her to find out.)

Girls really need to think about their behavior, now more than ever.

All the UF sororities have dinner at their houses at 5:30. During this time, the fraternities go around to the houses & "announce" their parties.

Sometimes they go in pairs, other times, in big groups. It all depends.

I'm involved in southern sorority life but I've never heard of announcing and courting--except when the KAs would ride across the Auburn campus on horseback and present their dates with their invitations to the Old South Ball!

No mealworms or bourbon, though.

There is no explanation that could justify dumping any that nasty on girls. The girls are inside eating dinner.... the guys walk in and tell them to go outside. I've heard that they yell degrading things to get them to go outside.

But who knows? I think it's all ridiculous if you ask me. I wouldn't want to be part of a chapter that just sits around and lets it all happen.

The meal worm dumping, etc that is in the news is what happened at the actual event I believe..but other things such as I mentioned earlier, happened at the announcing of the event. The annoucing takes place during dinner time and gave the girls a preview of what the event would be. IE. Bobbing for dildos in whipped cream should have been a good hint as to what the event would entail. And girls did this in front of their entire sorority house...and the girls in the house thought it was pretty funny according to my friends in the house. It's all in good fun, this is a CRAZY event! People from all over have heard of it and other fraternities elsewhere have even copied the event. Basically, it strokes the males ego and lets them be big manly men for a night. The girls get free drinks and one wild night to remember. And I really don't think the girls that posed the complaints are as mad about the actual event or the fact that they got caught doing this stuff. It's really not as bad as it sounds but it is defintely not for the weak at heart!

A more serious crime..let's see, how about being raped in front of your sorority house? Or even better, in front of a fraternity house!? It was said to have happened at Stetson University...Now that's the type of behavior a charter should be pulled for, not stupid pranks.

Yes, I have seen the partypics of the girls... and you're right about the internet spreading of them... Defintely not something to post on the fridge and send home to Mom, but the girls shouldn't have done that in the first place, and once again, are probably more mad about being caught on film than they are about actually "doing it."

I just feel like the fraternity is getting in trouble for something that they actually advertised pretty well at announcing as to what would happen at the event... Not that it SHOULD happen, but they never lied about what WOULD happen...They were very up front about the craziness, at least to my knowledge...

And girls DEFINTELY do need to be more careful these days, and that is sort of what I have been saying...that if these girls went to an event that was annouced with "bobbing for dildos in whipped cream and opening a cows heart over their heads" then maybe they should have thought twice about going!
