We've had a lot of great mixers..
--With the Pikes we had Destination Unknown where only the social chairs know where we're going and we all get on chartered busses and they take us somewhere (usually to a bar or a club)
--With the Sigma Chi's we had White Trash Bash
--With the KA's we had $5 Formal
--Also one year with the KA's we had "Back Where I Come From" which you wear your high school stuff...letter jackets, cheerleader uniforms, etc
--With the Lambda Chi's we had "Great Outdoors" in which they took us to a field and we had a big bon fire and they made punch
--Last semester with the Pikes we had "Jammies and Jello" where we dressed up in our pajamas and they made jello shots
--With the AGR's we had "Gamoflauge" where we wore camo. Also we had "Dixieland Delight" with them.

Good times!

Campus Crawl...dress like your favorite team (works well for schools without huge athletics or in a competitive area ie. UGA vs. Georgia Tech)

Finders Keepers....the fraternity and sorority members give the others ideas for things to dress up as and you draw out of a hat to see what you get....this was so much fun! We had guys dressed up as Tinkerbell, a Q-Tip, Batman, Cowboys, etc, and girls dressed up as hobos, Britney Spears (that was me! lol), Pippi Longstocking, Pregnant Teenager, etc.

Football players and cheerleaders

Fright Nite - halloween - i went as marge simpson - it was funny
toga
dazed and confused - 70's really
hollywood nights
cowboys and indians
revenge of the nerds
anything goes but clothes - this ones funny and you will get to see an eye full
Biling Bling Fling - the most fun, a member date were you 'blinged' yourself up. we had snoop on the back of the t-shirts - it was awesome.

Big shout out to my Sigma Kappa girls and the pike boys = Love Ya!

Ok, so these are all great themes, but what about activities for the socials? All that is being listed are themes for parties where you just go drink and hang out. And from my understanding, mixers/socials _HAVE_ to be dry per Risk Management and FIPG. So does anyone want to share any activities that could be used for socials/mixers?

Fantasy Party- Everyone dresses up as or in their sexual fantasy and hey, some might come true

Just FYI about party and mixer themes, here's what the report of the consultant who was hired to evaluate Greek life at California State - Chico said:

" . . . social events that have themes such as 'Dirty Doctors and Naughty Nurses.' How doew that event show the public their [fraternities' / sororities'] core values? This is the worst kind of PR you can have . . . ."

I'm not personally against fun, but on many campuses it wouldn't hurt to at least consider the PR aspect of a party theme.
