CJ,

You and your family are in my prayers along with my family and the DGs at Akron U. If you need anything at all, please do not hesitate to ask. You have my number if you ever need it. Take care and always know that your mother will be with you where ever your life takes you.

do not mean to crash in on your forum...

From one follow sister (BSP) to another - Hang in there...you and your family are in my prayers ( hugs from Sac CA). I lost my mom suddenly at age 29 (major stroke 2 days before her 50th b-day).

Beautiful Sisters (DG and Greek alike),
Today, March 10, 2003, Barbara Alan (Bonar) Moore - Eta (Akron) passed away at 9 PM after this long struggle. She was in no pain and had been sleeping soundly for almost 24 hours. She slipped right away into the arms of the Lord. Of course, we are all sad, but we are thankful for God's grace through this all. Thank you for all of your help. It's been a long hard battle. She was ready for some rest...as are all of us.
LITB,
CJ

Andrea - we will be having a service here in Cary, probably on Thursday. We will also have a smaller one in Akron, probably on Saturday. Her ashes will be burried at GreenLawn with her father at her side. I would love if you would come to the service, if for nothing else to help me. If not though, I understand (especially if it's Spring Break...as it is for me). I'll call you this week sometime or catch me on IM. Thanks for everything. I love the Eta women!

CJ, you have my deepest condolences on the loss of your beloved mother. Try to take some comfort in the fact that she is resting in a place where there is no pain, or sorrow, or suffering--she is with the angels now.

God bless you and your family in this time of need. Please let us know if there is anything at all that we can do for you.

Just another note real quick. The hospital just called asking if it was alright to donate her corneas. As we all know, DG's national philanthropy is Service for Sight. My mom is giving this amazing gift to someone. I am so proud of her and how strong she has been through everything.

CJ,

My deepest condolences go out to you and your family. Your mom is now an angel in heaven to watch over you and guide you. She will be with you always, all you have to do is talk to her. Be good to yourself and patient with yourself as you move through the grieving process. There are no time limits on grief, no set way you have to feel or react. Do what feels right to you. When I lose someone, I buy a new candle and dedicate the spirit of the flame to them. Then, when I am missing them, I light that candle and talk to them and feel as if they are with me. Perhaps that ritual will help you in your process.

Take care,
Amy

CJ, I'm sorry to hear this. May she rest in peace now, surrounded by your love and without the physical pain she endured. I believe in guardian angels (my dad for almost 8 years) and I know you have your mom with you still, every step of your way.

Congratulations for making the choice to donate her corneas. It is a wonderful gift to give another person! I'm sure your mom is thrilled that you made that choice, and that she's still supporting the work of her beloved sorority in her death. How wonderful to do something so great for someone else.

All my best to you and your family, CJ. Thank you for sharing such a personal experience with us.

Fraternally,
Christin

God Bless you and your family in this difficult time. I lost my mother to breast cancer almost 10years ago.
One suggestion that might help ease your pain. Buy a journal and just stream of consciousness write in it. Write down everything you remember about your mother. From the songs she used to sing to you, to the advice she gave you. This would be a treasure to pass on to your children one day.
