I haven't had any recently. I try to stay away from some places now. Of course one of my friends suggested we eat at the Chinese restaurant that I wrote about one night. I had to tell my HORROR story all over again. Needless tosay, I am sure their business hasn't been the same.

Boy am I glad somebody started this post!!!!!!
I got 3 stories ta tell!!!
1) The first one happened at...you guessed it, a CHINESE place!! (Am I the only one who sees a PATTERN here ?)
Anywho...my mom, two of my aunts and myself were at the "Win China Buffet (on Devine street, next to Bi-Lo) here in Columbia, SC. We get to eating, you know everything was all good. Next thing you know, I see my mom out of the corner of my eye spitting her food out back into her plate. She says, "Oh my God, let's get out of here...LOOK at my brocolli!" D@m if it wasn't the biggest, hairiest caterpillar on the stem of the brocolli that she was about to put in her mouth. At this point, one of my aunts goes to tell the nearest waiter. She whispered the problem in his ear and he has the nerve to say out loud, "Go find you waiter, I not you waiter". She announced to the restaurant, "Don't eat the brocolli, it has worms on it". We left and half of the place left with us. We were disgusted but we laughed all the way home.
2) Next....a friend of mine ordered a triple cheese burger from McDonalds (on Broad River Road). He starts eating and realizes that something rubbery is on the sandwich, because he can't bite through it. How 'bout, he took the sandwich apart and discovered a CONDOM . WTF
3) Then....a friend of mine ordered a burger from Sonic (on Decker Blvd.). She took her bun off to put ketchup on it and discovered a fly on the lettuce. YUCK
Stories like this are the reasons why I prefer to enjoy my own cooking in the comfort of my home. I like the fact that now, WLTX, a local television station now airs the "Restaurant Report Card" on the news. They show the best and worst grades of restaurants which have been reported by the health department inspectors. On the news website, they post all of the grades. I view them every week. I needs to know what was found in the kitchens of some of these nasty places!!!!!

You see, I try not to discriminate, but they are getting out of control in their restaurants...

Two Chinese Food Stories:
In college, there was this Chinese Restaraunt who served food for really really cheap prices. I always got it delivered and I always got the chicken wings. Those were usually okay, but I decided to get Cashew chicken one night. When I got it, it looked and tasted JUST like soul food with hardly any cashews in it. I was like, what is this??? A week later, I happened to be shopping and I finally saw the restaraunt I had been ordering my food from. It was no bigger than the size of a closet and it looked tow-up! I'm sorry, but I just don't trust places if they don't look good enough to my standards. I never ordered anything else from there.
I found another Chinese Restaraunt and ordered sesame seed chicken. I bit into it and came across something hard. It was like grisel or something chewy but not edible. So I spit it out and kept eating, thinking no big deal. I bit into ANOTHER piece of grisel. then another...then another. About half of my food had "grisel" in it. And chicken is not supposed to have that much damn grisel. I couldn't finish. I haven't eaten Chinese food for a while since.

I was on the turnpike and had stopped after a few hours to get something to eat. I went to McDonald's, placed my order and this guy walks out from the back while mopping his way to the front and puts my food in the bag
I told politely told him that I didn't want the food after he was just mopping and didn't wash his hands. No gloves- just bare hands. He said, "oh, I can make you another order" while walking right over to the food to do it again! He STILL didn't wash his hands. I asked for a refund.
I went next door to get a slice of pizza instead. While walking to the exit I passed right by McDonald's...he picked up his mop and began to clean the floors again as I walked pass shaking my head.
This is what takes the cake - He was the manager!!!!

It was unrolled, so it may have been used. The person who is believed to have put the condom on the burger was fired, but there were no criminal charges or anything filed.

First off...HEY fellow Columbianite!!!
Anyway, GIRL...I am RELIGIOUSLY in front of the TV on Thursday's to see the RRC on WLTX. You would be surprised at some of the places on there that get borderline grades! I don't know if you are like me, but it doesn't impress me when someone gets like a 'C' on a surprise inspection, and then they go back the next week and have an "A"...shoulda done it right the first time! :rolleys: My girls and I will quickly do an about-face if there is anything less than an "A" on the door.
Did you know that the AppleBee's on Broad River had a "C" one week we went to eat there? Chile!!!! **shaking head**

2 stories....
I stopped off at a Checkers one afternoon after work and soon realized I had very little cash on me, so I order a burger, small fries and a cup of water. When I got to the window the little wench told me their water was not working! I'm like "Well how are you washing your hands???" She had the nerve to say "Oh, my hands are clean!" Needless to say, I got my money back and called the health department the next day!!
Open Letter to resturants: If you have no water, close for the day!!
Another time I stopped at a Wendy's late at night. I'm sitting at the window waiting for my food when I see this chick sweeping. She finishes sweeping, picks up the trash, then proceeds to pick up a cup, dip it in the ice (with no scooper) to fix my dirink. When I called her on it, she tried to get a attitude with me. Little heifer...

This seems kinda tame in comparison...
When I was in college, some friends and I decided to grab a quick bite at Denny's. It was right next to our apartment community and we were so happy to have a Denny's that close. Anyway, my friend ordered a coke. When her coke arrived, there was a lemon in it. Since coke is not typically served with lemon, she questioned the waitress. The waitress looked at the drink and said, oh, I made a mistake. She then took the lemon out of the drink with her hands and asked my friend to try it now. Needless to say, we never went there again.

Another Chinese food one.
I was a counselor for a summer program at Howard between sophomore and junior year. One night, since dinner was served so early, a few of us got hungry. We find a menu to the Chinese place and decide to order. A few of us made a joke about the writing on the front of the menu. It said “We Delivery” instead of “We Deliver” I remember saying that was kinda suspect and maybe we should order from someplace else (I was joking) Anyway, we order the food and get to eating. One of the other counselors stops eating after having a few bites while the rest of us grub. The next morning, she tells us, “I didn’t want to gross anybody out last night, but I found a dead TAPEWORM in my food.” Umm, hello! I would much rather had been a little grossed out than to have possibly have eaten a tapeworm. I mean, we could’ve tried to get refunds or something, She just let us eat that food, what if a live one had been in there. I was really mad at her for that…
I was back in DC a few weeks ago and my friend decides to order Chinese. I told him what I wanted and let him order. After the food arrives and I eat a little, I spot the menu. Wouldn’t you know it, “We Delivery” I couldn’t even finish.

Go, Bison!!!
I don't remember the name, but on the bottom of the front page of the menu, it says in big letters "WE DELIVERY"
Hey, there's always China Wonder if you feel like walking I had no problems with them.
I just thought of another...the KFC/Taco Bell on Georgia Ave was horrendous. It was a regular hang-out joint for rats and roaches and it smelled like rotten food and funky people. (the homeless frequented the place, too) Fortunately, it got shut down last year.

I will DEFINITELY have to look out for that menu!!! Yes, the KFC closed down last year, as did the Burger King.... both rather suddenly.... It only makes you wonder.... I don't go to China Wonder much, and when I do, I usually only get wings and fries (with mumbo sauce of course!)
