Proud son of Virginia!
Though I've since moved away due to work I still love Virginia and return as often as I am able. To me there is no place more wonderful than the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, you just don't fully appreciate it until life pulls you away.
"To be a Virginian either by Birth, Marriage, Adoption, or even on one's Mother's side, is an Introduction to any State in the Union, a Passport to any Foreign country and a Benediction from Above."

However, the national identity tag oval is "A" "Oesterreich" literally translated means "eastern country". During the period from 1936 to 1945, it was known as Ostmark (Eastern Mark) and annexed to Germany.
I understand the 'Outer Banks" are the islands on the far eastern shores of North Carolina.

Outerbanks also includes Nags Head, etc that are mainland beaches.
Osterreich, Meain Eastern Country, or Empire. Because there was Holy Roman Empire, and Austria was different, so was the Eastern Empire.

LOL - I tell my midwestern friends who ask that the OBX stickers stand for Obnoxious!
BTW, the daughter of a friend of mine pledged AOPi at George Mason this year... Haven't heard anything about it since, though.
