Ditto to everything that's already been said. I hate the last minute check writing people without their ids, the bratty little monsters, and old people who use their age. One day I was getting gas and went inside to get some gum. The lady at the counter was getting ready to ring me up when this lil old lady just walked in front of me like I wasn't standing there!! The cashier looked at her funny but I guess since I didn't do anything (didn't wanna run the risk of going to jail for beating up an old lady, which I really wanted to do--I'll see you in hell 33girl ) she just went ahead and took care of her first.
Being a "professional" shopper I have learned to avoid a lot of stuff. Main piece of advice--NEVER get in what looks like the shortest line. It's a trap.

All of the above and....
People who don't push their grocery cart back to its appropriate place. I hate either having to pass up 10 good parking spots because they're occupied by carts or coming back out to the lot and finding that someone has left their cart behind my car or close enough that it could get scratched. PUT YOUR CARTS BACK, PEOPLE!

Guilty...this would be me. I like paper checks.
One of my biggest pet peeves comes before I even get in the store. I hate when I'm at the grocery store and I think I've found an awesome parking spot and then I find out it's a frickin' Cart Coral spot!!! Argh!

Bamboozled, we are on the same wave length! We just posted practically the same complaint at the very same time!

I did that once at Costco. Sorry. It will never happen again.

I can't stand it when a group of people walk .000000001 miles per hour in a narrow area.

I guess I was more peeved that they brought a small infant to a place that the child won't remember anyway. They didn't have any other kids with them so I assume it was just them. I guess i have limited patience and might understand it more when I have kids. Who knows.

I just got back from shopping. Dillard's is having a HUGE sale this weekend where everything that was already marked down, is being marked down 25% more. That said, it was packed and with more than a few children. I do not care for ill-behaved children at all.
While in the dressing room, trying on clothes, a kid in the next stall over with his mom started screaming. Not just yelling, but screaming at the top of his lungs about how he wanted to go look at stuff for him, how mean his mom was, etc. He *would not* shut up. Did she leave? No. Did she spank him? No. Did she do ANYTHING? No! The clerk had to go and say something to her and even then, the mom dismissed it as a temper tantrum.
Yes, I realize that kids are going to have temper tantrums, but that is no reason that I have to hear them.
Ditto on the people who want to walk slow ahead of you, but who sure as heck do not want you to pass them. That annoys the crap out of me.

I'm usually pretty good now about putting my cart back. But when my daughters were younger, say newborn and 22 months, there was no way I was going to load my car then schlep two babies and a cart back to the store (or a cart corral several rows away) and back to the car!

HOLY COW that is HILARIOUS!
alright as a sales associate, i have some pet peeves. At the fabric store, large groups of women will come in to look at patterns. all of their sons, daughters, nieces, cousins, and whonot have to come with them. they all congregate over at the pattern table. the kids will run all over the store, buying or stealing candy, opening packages of silly putty and sticking it on the fabric so a whole bolt is ruined.
*We had one family come in with a small toddler who SERIOUSLY needed her diaper changed. However, she was walking around touching everything while her mother was cutting fabric. Damn... she stunk.
*we have regulars who unroll an entire bolt of fabric and then just leave it.
regular shopping:
*the fact that every article of clothing i look at seems to not fit correctly. just because i am skinny, does NOT mean i am 5'7". Pants are always too long. And then ankle pants are too short. Shirts also are a problem most of the time, but i won't go into that.
*a chorus line of people down one long aisle. they all look at you and make some snotty comment when you finally squeeze by them.
*the people that obviously see you coming in their direction but fail to make any effort to move out of the way. Do you expect ME to make all of the manuvers to get out of YOUR path? It's a two way street!

I really wish grocery stores and stores like Meijers, Kmart, Walmart, Target, etc had a Five Items or Less checkout lane. I hate getting into the Twelve Items or Less lane with one or two things in my hand and having all the people in front of me have 10+ items. Grrr!

*Dressing rooms with the half-door, I am somewhat tall, 5'10", and half the time you can practically see my 'twins' over the stall door.
*When you are in the dressing room, and somebody's child is crawling on the floor, and they end up peeking under the door! Look, this is not Pay-per-view...get your KID!!!
*RUDE salespersons/clerk...IT IS NOT MY FAULT you have to work at a gas station on a Saturday night...MMMKAY?
*When I am at Walmart/grocery store, etc...and the clerk just starts ringing me up, I feel like saying..."WELL HELLO WELCOME TO WALMART, HOW ARE YOU???"
*When I go to whip my car into a parking space and realize that it has a little short ass car in it, like a Bug or something...
*When I was in high school, I used to work at JC Penney, and I used to hate it when people would throw their money at me when my hand was out...I used to PRAY they had change, or if they used a credit card, LOL I would slap it down so hard, you would have thought I was playing spades and I just slapped down the Big Joker!
That's all for now..
***edited to add***
*When a parent has a big half-grown child in a stroller. That kinda pisses me off personally, LET HIM WALK!!! This big 'man-child' is up in the stroller with his feet dragging on the floor. It's even worse when they carry them! LET HIS ASS WALK, kids don't get enough exercise now anyway!

Dogs get hit everyday with cars because they escaped. Why not stupid, bratty children?)/quote]
My rule of thumb... if they ain't in the crosswalk, they're legitimate targets (children and adults alike) (Just kidding, folks... I'm not that violent... just don't push it!

People with cell phones: Now we are in the 21st century and cell phones are a must have. However, if you are checking out with the cashier, and your cell phone rings, unless the call is majorly important (ie. emergency or business call), tell the person you will call them back. The cashier ringing you up has to wait for you to shut the hell up and pay her/him, which in turn holds up the line.
|
Ditto. Absolutely drives me up the wall that people can pretend to be so self-important that the whole world revolves around them?!?!? Time to take 'em out the back, yank their silly a** cell phone (in Venezuelan Spanish slang, they've come up with the perfect word to describe the cell phone: el ridiculo ('ridiculous')) off their grubby little hands and open up a can of whoop-a** on them just on GP! Unless it's an emergency... call 'em back! And it better BE important!

The parcel pick-up station at grocery stores: It's just what it's called..a parcel pick-up station. Not a "park your car in front of the grocery store while Susie runs in a does all of her shopping" station. I HATE people who sit in their cars infront of the grocery store. Now, if you are just running in to grab a few items, it's not that big of a deal. But when I enter the grocery store and exit the grocery store in 45 minutes and your car is STILL in the parcel-pickup station, you need to park your A$$ in a real spot and stop being such a jerk!
|
Another drive-me-up the wall thing: people who park in handicapped spaces when they have no right to do so. The Park Cities matrons (the high-class suburban bubble within Dallas) are notorious for doing that at the Simon David gourmet grocery. How's about I slash all four of your tires and key up the expensive paintwork on your yuppie-mobile? Nahh... a couple of strategically-thrown grocery carts will do nicely!

Last week I went to a Winn Dixie while out running errands and they only had one LANE open. . . I only wanted 2 items and the lane had 6 folks in it. I pivoted right out the door.
