My Chapter of Delta Gamma, Beta, was established on the University of Washington campus in 1903. I believe this was the first, but I know G Phi B was right around there too.

There was a state wide ban on national organization on the SUNY systems until the late 70s. I do know that many org. was in Buff State in the early 1900s. We have two chapters that are the Sigma chapter (Alpha Sigma Tau) and the Rho chapter (Sigma Tau Gamma). I do believe they were disolved due to the SUNY ruling on national fraternities. The two are active in BUff State again.
As for the oldest contitious fraternity, it's Sigma Phi Epsilon (1979)
Sorority, I believe it's AST, also around the same year. They came after the ban was lifted.

The first national fraternity to come to my school was SAE in 1881. They are still here, but I don't think it's been a continuous presence.
The first national sorority to come on campus was Chi O, which got here in - I want to say - 1928. They were followed by Tri Delt and Phi Mu in the 1930s. After that, we didn't get any new national sororities until the 1970s, and 2 new chapters in the 1990s.
